i'll have to get to those later. 50 Cent's album came out - Best Buy is offering this 1 CD/2 DVD set - advertising a full length movie with the same title as the CD (written and directed by 50 according to wiki?) and then another film. _________________ I am Torgo. I saw that Kanye released a CD/DVD of his Storytellers deal. I haven't really heard/seen much buzz on it. Anyone? I remember it looked pretty cool. Unfortunately my DVD player is not reading stuff it priorly recorded for some reason (I recorded the original broadcast). Post Swift it seems he's keeping pretty low key. Also, if anyone comes across a good Best Rap/Hip Hop albums of the decade list, I'd love to see it. I Google'd some but didn't really come up with much. Yeah, best of lists for Hip Hop/ Rap are going to be a a dicey bet because of one thing more than any other: It became so commercial that the music became completely disposable and single/ Ringtone oriented. There will be lists for the underground hip hop heads that will have a ton of artists no one who watches Sucka Free on M2 will recognize, and the mainstream outlets will read like a NOW that's what I call hip hop hitlist. The 90's look to be the peak of Hip Hop historically for now, it will be like what the 50's and 60's were to Rock & Roll. Yeah, and Kanye is smart to let ALL the Awards shows come and go without making a lot of noise, cause with Each and Every One Taylor Swift will win something and everyone will be reminded of "the incident". _________________ yup, that's my name. One person reviewed the Storytellers release very harshly. It seems they even left off Love Lockdown. One list I saw had Madvillian and I remember that being on Pitchfork - are you familiar with that artist? _________________ I am Torgo. I take care of the place while the Master is away. |

Hmmm... Madvillian is only a name to me, one I've read alot but ever bothered to follow up on. I don't see why they wouldn't just put the whole show the taped on the DVD, and maybe bleep out his cussing on the rant about the Dr. that worked on his mother at worst??? Oh well. buzz on Kanye's new one is really great so far. i think rolling stone and spin gave it something like 10/10 and 9/10, so i kinda looking forward to it. i have been ignoring the Good Friday stuff for the most part. and.... supposedly the first official song from Dr Dre's Detox album: http://www.drdre.com/kush/ is the first verse supposed to be Dre? there is some gravel in his voice i don't remember that makes me think of DMX. i really wish Nate Dogg was around to show these auto-tunes how to handle vocals - although the "hold up" part sounds like nate kinda. _________________ I am Torgo.
