Here's an idea that I had, I'd like to put together an Eisley timeline highlighting all the important dates and events in the history of Eisley. Originally, me and another fan were going to try and put it all together and *surprise* the forum and band with a finished timeline but i think it could get done much better and faster if we all worked on it. Many of you have access to information that would take us forever to find out.

so here we go, post any information that you think is important enough to go on the timeline. Or if you're up to doing some research try and figure some of the harder stuff out like "when was the band first conceived of.. i think the very first band name was.. Neverland?", "When did Stacy join the band and what song did she write that got her in?", "when/where was their first public appearence as moss eisley, setlist?", "when/where was the first recordings done?", "when did the forum come online?". you get the idea.

Anyway, i figured this would be a cool forum-wide project that everyone could have a part in.

ps please don't bug Boyd with timeline related questions, he's busy enough as it is i'm sure.

Ooh, I got one.

Board started: 02 Nov 2002 06:22 pm

To the minute, baby. To the minute.

And Neverland wasn't the first name. Towheads, I think.. but I think they had even a name before that.. very briefly.

August 14, 2003: this person

You can find any particular milestone by changing the profile number in the link. I used 1001 to offset by one because profile 1 is actually the guest/anonymous account. Of course if you want to be technical, you can take into account the band members and family, meaning you'd add uh.. 7 (5 + 2) to that number. So #1008 would be the 1000th "actual" member.

Did that make any sense? Laughing

The eBlasts contain some info. I believe the first one was sent on March 28, 2003. In it was announced the change from MossEisley to Eisley.

Laughing City was released on May 20, 2003.

The dates for the first tour dates with Coldplay were January 28, 2003 (Houston), Jan 29 (Austin), and Jan 31 (Dallas).

The online release for Marvelous Things was October 28, 2003 (iTunes and stuff). December 9 is the in store release of it.

October 30, 2003 is the first tour date on the Brand New tour... in Washington, D.C. at the 9:30 Club.

That's all I have for now. There's info everywhere though!

This is fascinating stuff. Their first show with Coldplay was on my birthday. Sweet.

I'll probably be back here when I have some dates to share...

Eisley was first known as "The Towheads".
At some point in time, for a brief time, they were called "Sinclair", the band will probably have to answer the question of when and why.
They were called "Moss Eisley" for a long time, and then were called "Neverland" for a brief time around a year ago.
The second show i saw, which was Feb 15, 2003, they were billed as "Neverland" in the club's advertisements in the Dallas Observer.

You should add the date they signed with Dave Holmes and Nettwerk Management, and also the date Dave Holmes( and Eisley) left Nettwerk management to form Dave's new company....

You should also ask Bartman of this forum when the date was of that pinnacle of Moss Eisley history, the show where they played somewhere in texas, i believe in a Junior-High school cafeteria, and like TWO people showed up to watch them....i think Bartman had provided the PA system for the show. He can tell the story better than me....
