Let's start a online battle between the hopeless romantics and fashionable cynics!

I say "yes" to valentine's day, because I like making home-made cards.

I also have fond memories of my dad taking me out on "dates" when I was really little. We almost always went out on Valentine's day. We went to movies and out to dinner, and he always bought me something from "Hello Kitty." It was an idea my mom had for us to spend more time together, since my dad worked a lot.

In third grade, this boy handed me a sweaty handful of "red hot" hearts, the candy... It was disgusting, but I'll always remember it.

I have this "Hannah Montana" valentine that my little cousins sent me last year. I love it.

So, even though I will most likely be spending this Valentine's Day alone, I am a-okay with the V-day.

Last years was perfect. This year V-day happens to be during the NBA All-Star weekend so I'll be sitting on my couch, probably with other dudes, on the 14th watching the dunk contest (GO RUDY!). And unlike last year, I am alone this year and not seeking anyone in particular at the moment.

I do approve of this holiday, though.

Valentine's Day is great for musicians. I'll be making around 300 bucks over the weekend playing for all the sappy types.

How about "meh"? But if you do it right, you can enjoy just about anything as far as these kinds of days go.

I don't have a problem with it but for me personally it's not one of my favorite days. This year I'm doing to visit my sister and even though she has a boyfriend she's going to be spending the day with me. Very Happy

I would be legitimately surprised if Valentine's Day didn't place second on the list of holidays one is most likely to commit suicide*.
#1 is Christmas, and this will never change so long as there are ad agencies.

Obviously, saying this would place bitter, misanthropic me in the "Nay" category.

Valentine's Day is cool, because it gives you license to send something kinda romantic to that special someone! Very Happy

When I've been single it's been just another day. When I've been partnered it's given me an excuse to do something ridiculously romantic.

Tyler said it's good for musicians - true. It's also good for chocolatiers and florists, and thus I should be working on the fri/sat. So all I can do is send a wee card to my gf - we'll go out later in the month.

Although there should be no reason to be doing that anyway!

But I guess you're right, especially if you're poor in funds and don't have the money to be doing that often.

This is the first time I've had a boyfriend around for Valentines Day in five years, so definitely 'yay' for me.

Valumtimes!?

Eh, I have a girlfriend this year. I'm also in the meh category. Sure it's awesome to have an excuse but I would do it anyway. So it's just kind of more couples doing it now.

We never do the mushy valentines day thing, but this year we will just so happen to be on a vacation down in the hill country. So we will most likely be spending V-day under a waterfall at some state park or on our knees in a cave. Huntin' bats!

I'm still "meh" in spite of my relationship status, too. Though I will certainly do something to mark the day for the first time in quite a while.

I don't like Valentines Day because it doesn't even seem romantic. Everyone expects to get something on V-Day. It's really not that romantic, at all. Romance is love with the element of surprise. How can it be romantic if you already expect it? That's my thoughts anyway.
