Do you think Angela of White Wire/ New Parables Fly with Me is as good as the Original, if not better?

So, killing time, and saw that White Wire has become New Parables. But what I wasn't expecting, was to find a youtube link to some cover song...

Super Poppy, but being that 1 person tracked all these instruments, shot the video, mixed the audio, and it came out this good, I was FLOORED. then I found out via reading the description, it was... a Jonas Bros. Song Evil or Very Mad

It was a cover's contest entry where everyone did the song... and it DIDN't win??? Shocked

So, first I checked out the two winners (let's just say it helps to look like you watch the N or Disney), who she politely links in her description, and then I found the official Jonas Bros. vid, making it the first Jonas Bros. Vid I think I've ever seen...

So, in all honesty, this is basically a Goo Goo Dolls / Keith Urban/ Shania Twain/ Latter-Day-Bon Jovi etc et al... song, so it's easy to laugh off the catchy pop rockness of it all.

But Good Grief if Angela didn't NAIL it to the floor and hammer it like a railroad spike!

I think they couldn't acknowledge her entry cause it's as good a production, if not better than the original! What do you think??? Confused

Oh my gosh. She didn't win?! I saw this within the first few days of it being up and I was so shocked at how amazing her cover of it was. That's SO ridiculous and really sucks because she's amazing.

it's much more full-bodied and substantial than any of the other version. even all cleaned up it's not really my type of music, but she did do a great job with it.

Yeah, I think she said she couldn't win because she wasn't in the fan club or something like that. Laughing

But yeah, it's a flipping great version. She's good.

I think she didn't win because more is involved than just doing a kickass job. I think they were trying to pick people more in the Jonas Brothers fan base age, and also people who didn't look like they already owned every instrument on the planet.

I'm sure that if the contest was 100% based on talent, skill and execution she would have won.

That being said, she sounds great!

BTW I actually really enjoy the Jonas Brothers (shut it) but my favorite Jo Bro is the one who doesn't play any instruments or sing lead vocals... he just runs around and sometimes sings backup Laughing

Her cover is like a thousand times better than the original and the covers that won. The reasons hisownshot gave for her not winning seem very likely... But still, she did a brilliant job, her talent, skill and work is just amazing.

Confession time: I also enjoy the Jonas Brothers. Quite a bit, actually. It's solid pop.

Agreed. I don't like all of their stuff, actually, a lot of it's just okay to me. But on the album with the cover of them in the city with one of them holding an umbrella, there's a song called "Sorry" that I really love, honestly. They're definitely the better of the mainstream music out right now.
