Looks like they'll be showcasing at SXSW this year!

Use this thread to post new info on their set (day, time, what venue, etc) when it becomes available either through the SXSW site or through boyd.

Other bands showcasing you may want to check out: Midlake + Miniature Tigers

If you go to one of the shows at a venue you don't need an event pass (you know, the really expensive ones) to get in, right? Or does that depend on how early you get there? Anyone with SXSW experience know how that works? Thanks.

SXSW seems like so much fun, but I've also heard it's an absolute madhouse. Anyone here gone and have stories?

Also, seeing Eisley and Midlake in one place is super freakin' awesome.

This is a good time to get press, and tv time as lots of the music stations "brand extensions" like M2, MTVU, fuse and others will be covering it, Even CNN does a little coverage now and then.

You don't need passes to get in cuz they don't really help anyways... But yes it is a madhouse and things sell out very quickly. Austin City Limts is a lot better and more organized so I am hoping for Eisley to go there.

High time they got on the SXSW carnival ride! Does seem like a zoo if you attend but makes a great showcase.

ACL is a completely different thing than SXSW though. The only thing in common is that both have live music.

SXSW is crazy because badges and wristbands that you shell out some serious cash for don't always help. But I also wouldn't attempt going to this show if you don't have one. I've known a lot of people who just showed up way beforehand and then couldn't get in because they only took badge/wristband holders.

Hopefully Eisley will play a free show during the day though! There are tons of them around that aren't official SXSW shows. Lots of bands do it.

from twitter:

"No news on our SXSW showcase yet. All bands will be notified (when/where) by end of Jan./early Feb."

"Note: you CAN pay cover charge to get into Eisley's SXSW show. Wristbands/badges get in 1st so get in line early!"

wondering how early "early" is Confused

If they're still working on it, I can't conceive of a way for them to get it into stores in two months. Not while they're signed to WB, anyway.

SXSW is alway a good move BEFORE you release a record, to get the press snowball buzzbin clusterbomb going. Doesn't always work, but it did wonders for the Artic Monkey's US release back in the day, and Bloc Party among others.

I hope they schmooze with some independent label reps while they're there.

not to sound like a snooty bitch, but I tend to forget they even have a new album coming out, due to the lack of news.

I know its not the bands fault, but I really am not holding my breath for a release with in the next 2 months.
