I just found some 7 track CD that has 2 songs from Eisley, "Mister Pine" and "Over the Mountains We Go". It's some promo CD for a radio station, presumably Dallas/Ft. Worth-based. Anyways, just found it odd that "Mister Pine" was one of the tracks selected. This appears to have been put out sometime in 2003 around the release of Laughing City...

"Mr. Pine" is badass--it doesn't surprise me that they picked it for a compilation. Is it the version from the old untitled EPs or a different recording?

I couldn't agree more. It's fantastic.

And cool find, Kit. Reminds me of my college radio days. Smile

Nice find! That's gotta be a rarity. Cool that Eisley got the biggest pic too.

That would be so beyond amazing if it's the studio version of Mr. Pine that was supposed to be on the LC EP!!

I rememeber reading somewhere though (one of Boyd's Journals?) that it was locked up in a vault never to be heard by ANYONE! Sad

I would seriously pay some madd cash for that track. I LOVE Mr. Pine that much.

After the full length, nobody will really care about all this stuff. Right?

Bd?

haha "light of laughing ears"

Hmmm...it doesn't seem that far removed from the version I pulled off of www.orangegoldandgreen.com a long time ago. In fact, I am pretty sure it is the same one. I have no clue as to whether this one was supposed to be Moss. I bought the MossEisley EP2 from the band personally back in 2002 and this song doesn't have the same kind of production quality as those songs. It sounds more like Laughing City-era production in that it's cleaner. I could be wrong though. I figured most people here would have already grabbed all the tracks from www.orangegoldandgreen.com by now.

If the band is OK with it, I don't have a problem with putting up a mediafire link, but I'm not going to do it without their permission.

*edit*

I take that back about the production. On second listen, it's probably not as clean as Laughing City. Sounds kinda loose. I don't know.

laughing city could've been a mini album with all those songs. could've recorded they all surrounded me, and blackened crown or brightly wound. an album with 10-11 songs. would've included those 8 tracks they played at their first show

Maybe you could PM Boyd and ask if it's okay to post the track on here? Mr. Pine is my favorite Eisley song, so I'm anxious to hear this version. Smile
