We foresee the mercy that's been shown my young limbs Will not go unthanked or unseen I'm confused by the spacing of the lines in this. Is this saying, "We foresee the mercy that's been shown to my young limbs. The mercy will not go unthanked or unseen." or, "We foresee the mercy that's been shown. My young limbs will not go unthanked or unseen." |

I always concluded that it was about the mercy that would not go unthanked or unseen. That's what I've always got from those lines. _________________ cynlovescandy wrote: kulvir wrote: I bet R. I think the mercy in question is that of the nurse mentioned earlier in the song. I take it that the nurse took care of the injured person. And I assume the person who was nursed back to health is probably a young soldier, from the rest of the song's lyrics. bigideas wrote: it's their pot song, so it doesn't matter.

the whole song is full of strangness. "all the wild horses wore rubber bands, to hid their hooves from sinking sand" It's actually war horses. I love that lyric, no idea what it means but that's the beauty of Stacy's poetry sometimes. _________________ http://www.twitter.com/drstrangeblog http://www.last.fm/user/getinline I can't find the time to write my mind the way I want it to read. |

"You've got a lot of nerve coming here your eyes are beating rythyms way faster than the speeding bullet that took the life of your radio" It took me forever to figure out what that said, and I refused to look it up online. Easily one of my favorite songs on their Room Noises album. I also thought for a long time that "Glimpsing the peeling paint of the nurse's ivory chin" Glimpsing the peeling paint of the nurse's Irish hen |
