I don't remember from my perusal of the postings, but didn't anyone else see this coming a mile away? No matter how much they tried to package them as a band, it was inevitable that the hot young girl talent would've eventually been singled out.

Everyone LOVES being in the shadow of a 16 y/o girl. Right? [/sarcasm]

I'm sure the boys will land on their feet.

Personally, I am hoping Hayley grows out of whatever BS she's going through right now. I thought the band's music was ok, but the lyrics were juvenile. What I'd like to see is Hayley all grown up, writing good lyrics and performing songs that showcase her awesome voice. One day.

What is a huge joke to me (not 'haha' funny, but 'that's pathetic' funny) is how none of them even knew what the word paramore meant before they chose it to be their name. They should've stayed in school.

Haha, I didn't know what it meant until now. I think Hayley was maybe just trying to play the part and encompass their name.Laughing

Wow, they didn't know Question
Geez, I don't believe that, with dictionaries and online dictionaries, No One looked it up... I just can believe that (having been in a few bands that have changed their names many many many times) when making sure there wasn't already a band named Paramore, they didn't look it up. I'm calling BS on Paramore's band members & their management if that's the story they're sticking to.

In my experience it goes like this:

1. People in and around a start suggesting/thinking of names.
2. Someone says "That sounds good."
3. If they don't know the word, or the suggester is "selling" the name to the others they say, "Yeah, and it means... Cool right?"
(Now at that point colloquial definitions are pretty common and wrong)
4. It gets a Yay or Nay vote.
5. Then People in and around the band check to see if there are other bands with that name, with said spelling, and double check the meaning.

What I found is the Dictionary comes in before or after step 1, or before or after 3. I smell a rat.

Here was the supposed tumblr post I was talking about earlier. Finally remembered to look at it on a computer - hard to read on phone.

So if you did that to bait Saellys it didn't work. If not, then Britians' Queen would like you to stop it.

I think we're all caring about Paramore/Hayley more than we need to.

Did anyone catch their Last Words, or whatever it's called, interview with MTV? I saw about 3 minutes of it. Hayley's basically denying the whole thing and acting like a pompous bitch. Oh, and that Paramore will live on (I assume they'll recruit new members).

All the psycho fans that were commenting on it (it was live) basically concluded that if Hayley says it's not true, then it's not true. Naturally, I'm inclined to believe the other dude (Josh?), especially when she's the only one who has anything to lose.

Her and Chad are truly a match made in Heaven. Rolling Eyes

I can't confirm whether it's true or not, but something said Chad was now a guitarist in the band. I also saw that he is producing Lisa Loeb's record and another record for a band on Eisley's new label. I think this was all via Twitter after I saw the news story on the Gomez Hyatt twitter.

I was expecting to hear that Chad would at least tour with them. Look at me, on a first name basis like I know and follow Either of the bands at all Neutral

and that graduating class of Pop-Punk-Emo2.0 warped to bands are as notorious for nepotism and intermingling as college rock groups from Ohio and Boston in the early 1990s*

It may have been more of a live context instead of full fledged member. Like you, interaction with Eisley is the only reason I have any knowledge of these bands.

My theory (and I don't know how accurate it actually is, but instinctually it seems so) always was that one of the main things Chad saw in Hayley was her rising level of fame. It wouldn't surprise me if he became musically involved with the band, as NFG has become pretty much irrelevant. Good 4 them, I guess!1
