Yeah, I noticed that, too. I've never noticed her using more than two or three guitars for a show, and only switched them around depending on how the song is supposed to sound. Back when they were sponsored by Epiphone, they were obligated to use Epis for at least one song, so that added one more, and I imagine that's the era to which that poster is referring. The Ted Nugent reference is even more perplexing, because he's pretty much exclusively used a Gibson Byrdland for, like, at least 35 years. I'm sure he brings a bunch of them on tour with him, but they all look the same. |

I guess maybe now she has several guitars made by Todd and that is what they are referring to. _________________ I am Torgo. I take care of the place while the Master is away. |

I assumed he was talking about Sherri, she seemed to change guitars more often than anyone else when I saw them last. Although Chauntelle could also be a ninja in addition to a badass... _________________ |

Found a few more: Very nice review. http://www.dailynexus.com/2011-03-03/eisley-brings-valley/ Not as nice review. http://www.advancetitan.com/titan-style/eisley-adds-spice-to-bland-val ley-1.2045113 Another review. http://blastmagazine.com/the-magazine/entertainment/music/eisley-explo res-a-valley-of-shadows/ The last two reviewers seem to have adored Combinations because they both think the Valley isn't as great. One even said that the Valley lacked "the punch" that Combinations had. _________________ "I cannot discuss your verses; for any attempt at criticism would be foreign to me. http://www.metacritic.com/music/the-valley They've only post 4 reviews so far, but they have a 81 avg! They show AV Club as 67, but it says "B-" Wouldn't that make it closer to 80 (I can't remember if that is considered upper 70's or low 80's)? _________________ I am Torgo. ^Yeah, I would imagine the AV Club rating to be around an 80 seeing as they gave the album a B-. Nowhere in the world does a 67 = B-. A 67 = D+. _________________ "I cannot discuss your verses; for any attempt at criticism would be foreign to me. Metacritic judges institutional scoring as F= 0, A = 100, so like this: F = 0 F+ = 8.3 D- = 16.6 D = 25 D+ = 33.3 C- = 41.6 C = 50 C+ = 58.3 B- = 66.6 B = 75 B+ = 83.3 A- = 91.6 A = 100 A B- is a 67 (rounding up), and each letter grade is the equivalent of 8.33 of 100. |

^ wow, further justifying my only reading Amazon reviews of albums I think I might not like in the long run! It was like an LC thread on Politics/ Religion/ or which Sister's songwriting or singing people prefer. Tonight's the Night is a really good album though, purposefully dark given the inspiration, but it's not ALL dark, and Neil Young shelved it for a few years because he didn't want it out there, too personal. _________________ yup, that's my name. ^ They said Eisley is more well known than Tegan and Sara... ![]() It was interesting that the biggest gripes were: Having Female Vocals Sounding Pop, predictable pop song structures on a few tracks Vocals contrasting with "Rocking out" and not being Emo or gruff enough to evoke the kind of emotion expected. (which contradicts their complimentary comments on dynamics, and their criticism of being predictable/ typical of pop) But I think they aim to come of as a couple of "dudes" so that all makes sense in context.
