Eisley plays Chicago this Thursday.

I'll be making the three hour drive with a small group of friends. Out of the six of us, I am the only one who has been to an Eisley show before, so that is exciting.

Who all from the board is coming?

If you frequent the general discussion I am sure you all know what I look like, so feel free to say hi if you see me.
Or if you have always wanted to punch me in the stomach for some of the crap I say, well then thursday is your chance!

I can't make it--someone do this for me! Wink

Hope you have an awesome time, get a vinyl, meet the whole band, and don't get punched.

Mark's on the road, but I don't think Boyd is. Orgo (was that the posters UID) got the two mixed up, of that I'm pretty sure.

In other news, I won't be there for Eisley, but come 7/16 I'll be up there for Soundgarden. You should come to that show! Smile

Also, there were small chilren at the KC show, and Sherri made sure to give them props during the set. At some point you ought take the little ones out to see the band. I'm sure they'll love it, then borrow your guitar permanently Wink

My guess is pre-show will be easier to chit-chat than post show.

And it's probably harder to get an all Ages venue in Chicago. Guess that's a perk of being nearer to the "Bible Belt". Confused

3 hour drive though? You are nearly closer to STL than Chicago by that math. Somebody needs to build a AWESOME, UNSKIPPABLE venue in the Hannibal/ Quincy area to serve as a catch-all connecting tour stop for bands skimming across the midwest, by was of Chicago to IA or KC.

st louis is farther away.

I am on the same road as chicago (for those that know, interstate 88 )
just directly west.

St louis is south of me by a long shot.
its a good 5 plus to st louis.
chicago is actually 2.5 hours away. but i like to say three.

Gotcha, It's hard for me to imagine there being 2.5 hours of IL west of Chicago, but I guess it's on the extreme East of the state, and there is whole west of the state from there on the North Side. One of my best friends from college is from Freeport, which is west of Rockford, I forget how far he said he was from Chicago.

Not to self: There are 4 Cardinal directions, not just North and South.

yes i am 30 minutes from freeport and about an hour from rockford.
both are north (east?) from me.

to get to chicago from freeport or rockford you go on interstate 90.
which is about 1.5 hours to downtown

I am going to sound like Ms. South Carolina but...

As far as Geography, in my head Illinois's Northwestern Border ended at Freeport because that's the last place I know of, because I knew someone from there. Laughing

I don't know what road I was on, but when I was trying to get back to Chicago from Naperville (a friend's wedding reception was there) I went West instead of east and ended up in Aurora's town square area??? Wayne's World references aside, that trip itinerary went to crap from the get go and was a metaphor for so much more going on at the time.

It was my only misadventure in IL, but all the other trips have been for concerts, so that's my rule for the foreseeable future:

Illinois - Concerts or Bust!

Golly, Poster

Aw man, I was really hoping I could go to the show tonight. It'll be the first one I've missed since moving to Chicago. But they do like performing here, so hopefully I'll get to catch them this fall. Blech.
