I can't believe I'm the one demanding that we focus on the positives here. What has this world come to? lol I am exciting. Videos are not the powerhouse of marketing they used to be. But once it is uploaded to youtube it is an easy share on facebook which is nice. the biggest fans are the harshest critics and feel like they should have a say in what the band does sadly. but i am sure they thought long and hard about what song to push next. i was happy with the choice of smarter for first single, most weren't. to each his own i guess. _________________ Wil's excellent description of me. wilsmith wrote: You're the Anti-Censorship+Topless Twitpic Parodying+Youth Group Video Directing guy that's a champion for the 1st amendment, Videogames as Art, and unrepentant file sharing... From the 1st Page of the "2nd Video Speculation" thread that had Watch It Die as tops (32%), then Better Love (22%), then the Valley (19%). cynlovescandy wrote: The Valley.
It makes sense to me. It's the title track, and it's a really great song. I think it could be a really fun video. wilsmith wrote: ^ I would like to see that one get a Video too, but I'm hoping that they break through with another song first to allow for a higher budget for a video, or a longer time to develop a concept and means to execute a really creative and complementary video.
Still thinking they might release all the pre-album releases as singles in that order though: Smarter, Kind, The Valley/ Ambulance. grain thrower wrote: cynlovescandy wrote: The Valley.

Plus the past 2 have been Sherri songs. bigideas wrote: I vote for The Valley. Though it's been around for fans a while, remember that singles/videos are bait for newbies.
But what about Smarter? Has there been any effort by us to try to get it on any video countdowns? The only one I can think of is VH1. I wonder how many votes it takes to crack the Top 20? _________________ yup, that's my name. FOR YOUR RATING PLEASURE: 4 LIKE Buttons, 1 NEUTRAL, 1 VEXED, 5 DISLIKE buttons. I was hoping for Better Love but I am through-the-roof excited for this regardless! The Valley is an amazing song, probably my second favourite on The Valley after Better Love, and Memories was my all time favourite Eisley video. wilsmith wrote: I can't think of any other band that could have done The Valley, meanwhile Oxygen Mask and Watch It Die, even though they are good, sound like a few other piano-based singer songwriters that are on the touring circuit right now could have come up with them. Indeed. That's why I'm so anxious to hear their new stuff after being divorced from Warner Bros. wilsmith wrote: Good bands write their kind of songs very well, great bands can write songs in all sorts of styles very well. I think Eisley has proven that they have become a Great band over the years. Even though that's the case, I think the Valley is their kind of song. The fact that they're a great band releasing their kind of song as a single instead of something reminiscent of their current contemporaries is really gratifying for me to hear. Preach it! |

I don't think putting out ANY video could be a bad idea as long as they don't waste a lot of time or money on it, and if it avoids sucking its way to Youtube infamy, they should be doing fine. Heck, even that might help ... _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |

They'll be kites on fire floating above a valley while Stacy walks all night. And that's the entire video. Nothing else happens whatsoever. _________________ cynlovescandy wrote: kulvir wrote: I bet R. Kelly approves of peeing in the shower. The world is R. Kelly's shower. It's a golden world. And you hear "Expecto Patronum" in the background right before it happens. _________________ cynlovescandy wrote: kulvir wrote: I bet R. Kelly approves of peeing in the shower. The world is R.
