I generally don’t like bands. I’m a singer/songwriter kinda gal. But Eisley is a special exception. Perhaps because they are a group of singer/songwriters. I know little about music, I’m a writer not a musician, but over the years I’ve noticed a trend in the musicians I like. Something happens over time that changes their music. Some might say this change is about maturing and experimenting. Some might say this change is about getting signed and then selling out. I don’t really know. What I know is this; as an artist you should stay true to your art. Marketability is great, and all, but originality isn’t something that can be informed by outside sources. I love that Eisley is whimsical. I really hope they don’t give up the things that make them special on the road to being marketable. This is just my opinion. I’m sure some will disagree. |
