we have that part in the rules and guidelines about it "being OK to disagree,"but i think we need to either add or remind everyone to LET people disagree. it's sort of embarrassing to watch someone post an idea, have 1 or more people disagree with them, and have the poster come back by saying "don't jump down my throat!" because they think that everyone is against or mad at them.

That sounds reasonable. I'm not sure it would help a lot in the end, but I'm all for doing anything to stop that nonsense.

Just a thought, but I think it would be cool if there were some type of search engine thing for old threads where you could type in a word or phrase and you would get matches for it (like a smaller LC-based version of Google). That way, people wouldn't have to search through the enormous collection of old threads.
Plus, I'm lazy.

yeah. is there any way to refine the search? usually when i do a search for a certain thread, even if i use the thread's title, i end up wading through about 40 million completely unrelated threads.

yeah, but usually what i remember is the thread title. maybe i'm REALLY stupid and you can already just search for that, but it seems like even if i put that in, and put in the forum i want to search, it shows tons of other totally unrelated threads. i'll go investigate again.
EDIT: HAHAH YOU CAN.

I'M A MORON. maybe the mods can take me out back and shoot me.
