Possibilities I considered for the point of this thread upon seeing the title:

Mattresses
Rock music
The obvious
Basically everything else except cookies

Soft and chewy, meanwhile.

My daughter, who likes to bake, makes them soft and chewy, but I prefer mine hard with a little crunch!

I'm always offended when I make people cookies and they request them burnt. My dad starts to meddle when I'm baking and wants me to make a tray of burnt ones for him. It makes me so angry. I go out and buy the stuff I need to make them and I bake cookies as a gift for my friends. He gets greedy and wants some of their cookies and he wants me to destroy them first. Those are my babies, my creations, the products of my labor. How can someone ask me to torch them?

soft and chewy. I have a hard time making chocolate chip cookies soft for some reason, but most people I know (complete psychos) like chocolate cookies a little crunchier.

+1!

A little crunch around the edge, but nice and soft/melty/gooey in the middle. Yum.

I like soft cookies, I don't think anything not homemade is really any good when it comes to stuff like chocolate chip cookies. I don't really mind them slightly undercooked.
