What are yours??

I'm going to break it down into Stacy and Sherri songs otherwise I think it would be too difficult.

Stacy:

1. Golly Sandra
2. I Wish
3. Ambulance (tie) ICBT4U
4. Drink the Water
5. Come Clean (tie) Go Away
hon. mentions: Like The Actors, Oxygen Mask, Lady of the Wood

Sherri:
1. Taking Control
2. Smarter
3. Blue Fish
4. If You're Wondering
5. Sad (tie) Wicked Child
hon. mentions: Invasion, Mr. Moon

Whoah, that was really difficult, and I'm subject to change the order depending on day, mood, etc.

If I had to pick 1 song for each that I feel is my favorite of their work and one runner up, regardless of my tastes:

Stacy:

1. Kind
1a. I Could Be There For You/ Laugh It Off

Sherri:

1. Marvelous Things
1a. Lights Out/ Treetops

My restriction will be only songs that have been recorded & officially made available for purchase/free DL. That means a great song like Lady Of The Wood is ineligible - sorry Lady, thems my rules. That leaves around 66 songs to choose from, not counting the Christmas tunes. On a first pass through all their albums & EPs I came up with 20 obvious favorites, so I'll stick with them as my Top 20, and unlike you prior jellylegs I'm not afraid of a challenge and will rank them together - Eisley songs are Eisley songs! Razz

1. Mr. Pine
2. Memories
3. Oxygen Mask
4. One Day I Slowly Floated Away
5. I Could Be There For You
6. The Valley
7. Ten Cent Blues
8. Plenty Of Paper
9. Watch It Die
10. Wicked Child
11. Real World
12. Vintage People
13. Save My Soul
14. Like The Actors
15. They All Surrounded Me
16. I Wish
17. Lights Out
18. Sad
19. Find Me Here
20. Currents

If I'm counting right, that makes 12 Stacy and 8 Sherri songs.

tungsten & I have very few common top favorites which is something I find fascinating, how fans of the same band can like very different things about them. Invasion would probably be #21 and Marvelous Things #22, hard to believe that one slipped out of my Top 20, a testament to how many truly outstanding songs they have.

I'm limiting this to a top 5, in no particular order, because otherwise I'll just end up listing a zillion songs.

1. Head Against the Sky (HAtS EP version)
2. Telescope Eyes (Independent EP version)
3. Taking Control
4. 192 Days (Deep Space EP version)
5. Mr. Moon / Save My Soul (couldn't decide)

I get the feeling my top favorites are "unique" amongst the rest of you. Razz

Wow, a lot of people really lean towards the Sherri songs! I'm definitely a Stacy man. Sucré being my absolute favorite as it is the Staciest. I love Sherri's writing too though, both are absolutely necessary to me.

i definitely like sherri songs more, but i will agree that both are necessary. they balance each other out a whole lot.

i remember wilsmith said something of their dynamic being fleetwood mac. with the release of currents i see chauntelle being christine mcvie (writing a lot of the more chill and relaxing songs), sherri as stevie nicks (writing the bands more rock songs especially when looking at nicks' solo albums), and stacy as lindsey buckingham (writing some of the more detailed songs).

i like chauntelle's songwriting, but i'm not gonna lie, i'm a little surprised it's not as rock heavy.

I despise categorizing Eisley by singer, so here's a very random list because it is all tied up after the top 3-ish, and those are in no real order:

Sun Feet
Over the Mountains
Escaping Song
Mr. Pine
Mr. Moon (they are so polite)
Vintage People
Sad
Millstone
Like the Actors
Plenty of Paper
Lost Enemies

.... I can probably safely name 5-10 other "top" songs with little effort. Especially since the newer songs will mostly need extra time to settle in along with songs I've known for a decade now.

This was pretty futile. Laughing I like just about every song on some level, and love many of them.

i guess naming least favorite songs would be easier. for me the only song that i could never get on board with in some way is vintage people.

I'm loving how varied the selections have been. Nobody's are the same!!!
I guess the one that's made it on the most lists so far is I Could Be There For You? Could that song be in the running for an overall Eisley favorite? It's definitely a crowd favorite at their shows.

something about that intro. i wish they'd record it! i asked sherri on twitter, and she said there's not even a demo version of it.

They know the fans love that intro (they reprised it on some recent tours). Maybe it will make it onto an EP?

It won a favorite song contest on here in 2007 just barely beating out Ten Cent Blues. Looks like Ten Cent Blues had 1 more vote but it was after voting time was over or something heh.

My favorites:

Marvelous Things
Escaping Song
Lady of the Wood
Sea King
They All Surrounded Me
Golly Sandra
Over The Mountains We Go
Just Like We Do
Drink the Water
