My phone has no low end to give me a total idea of what this sounds like, but the intro keyboard or whatever it is made me think of Myxomatosis. Just the type of instrument sound, not any melody, etc.

I wonder if she listens to St Vincent or Deerhoof - both bands I associate with really 'fat' sounding distorted guitar or keyboard riffs.

Haven't listened to Deerhoof, but St. V and the Black Keys (or Jack White) bring the big gat Fuzztone to the party. It works to give the song some serious energy to balance out the blissful pop appeal.

More like they have finally all arrived. And how.

This should be interesting.

ALSO: song is now streaming on their home page music player http://sucreofficial.com/#/tour/

Odd Soul meets Currents (the A-Side). Works very well to me. Also makes me think that Sherri's songs for her other projects and Stacy's would make for a very fun alternate reality Eisley aka, maybe what WB wanted all along?

which sherri songs exactly? i really liked You're Welcome off the Perma album.

anywho, the sucre song kinda reminds me of this

Hellsya good stuff! The sound most likely was influenced by the same thing that probably influences St. V, MØ, Lorde and the other groups:

Army of Me - Björk

Young and Free is very different! I like it. The other clips sound promising too.

in finally being able to listen to the clip previews on better speakers, but initial reactions to these 30 second clips is that these songs remind me more of bjork than a minor bird. these sound like they might be a little more experimental too. i'm surprised by the amount of electronics present, but that's not a bad thing.

to go off of what wil was saying, i think it could be interesting to hear how eisley could reinterpret songs from scure, perma, and rising fawn on an album. the songs selections would be a lot more dynamic and remind me of them having a fleetwood mac songwriting dynamic as wil pointed out before.

also, in the context of these new sucre songs i think it's possible that Lost Enemies/ Aristicats would've worked better with this kind of an arrangement or just as a sucre song. i would LOVE it if The Mainframe would finally see some sort of a dress up treatment, and i can see it happening as a sucre song based on these arrangements. i don't see this happening, but hearing Lady Get Away as a sucre song could be fun too.

-edit

after hearing this i'd like to hear stacy, MØ, Sleigh Bells, Kim Gordon, Bjork, and Lorde somehow collaborate together (though, i'm not the biggest Lorde fan, but she might be slowly growing on me).

Loving all the clips. Loner (the track) sounds incredible. It's those signature Stacy melody and vocals that just grab you instantly in the same way, even though the music itself continues to push into new boundaries.

I think I am sad that it is merely an EP and not a fully track. 2 years is a long Sucre fast. I think I will also miss the elegant, weepy quality to A Minor Bird (Troubled Waters, Hiding Out and Endless Sleep are 3 of the most beautiful songs ever IMO). These new tracks sound beautiful too but just a slightly different mood, seems like.

Are these Sucre track lengths that iTunes lists correct? 1:24? 2:52?

I hope a full LP is coming soon.

Just noticed the link to see more photos is to the Paradigm Management site. She is hooked up with some heavy hitters. Check out their client list http://www.paradigmagency.com/divisions/music/clientroster/?office=ALL

... wait a minute there... so is Eisley... I guess i missed that happening?

This MO thing keeps getting mentioned, but I had never heard of them. Wikipedia mentions a debut single in 2013, so that is pretty new. Not sure why they would be in the same breath as Bjork. Bjork was making albums when they were in diapers. Ha. Are they literally in her company?

Europe is filling the alternative pop void in the US market right now. One of my students had me teach her a song by Tav Lo who sounds like Lykke Li and is getting popular with kids. My student was quick to say, "don't play the video, it's not appropriate."

Been thinking that there might be a full length further out? Remembering the 2nd instagram clip of Stacy recording, I think the lyric was something like "I see your bright colors". None of the clips sound like that song. Unless she scrapped it, there might be some more songs floating out there.

I'd never heard of them either. My point was that Stacy wasn't influenced by MO or these other current bands, rather they were all influenced by Bjork.
