You're right, Wil, no one should jump the gun on the next Eisley studio release before actually hearing the album. That said, be prepared for the possibility of more similar posts when said album comes out. I might not dig it either. Out of all Eisley side projects, Perma may have been my least favorite, or the least consistent for me. It's been a while since I listened to it though. _________________ I am Torgo. I expect it to be pretty frequent. It's a lot easier to be critical of the changes the band has undergone. Before it was the music and style, and now those changes will be able to be pinned on one individual apart from the previous incarnation of the band. Que sera sera. _________________ yup, that's my name. FOR YOUR RATING PLEASURE: 4 LIKE Buttons, 1 NEUTRAL, 1 VEXED, 5 DISLIKE buttons. It seems to be part of human nature. I was pretty active on Urbanspoon for some time and it was pretty common to see a person go through the trouble of signing up and creating a user profile just to complain about a dinner and never using the site again. Sure, people are allowed to complain about something, but why not leave some positive reviews of restaurants you do like? You know, add something positive to the world. I was the weird user. I would only do fair to good reviews and only did 1 or 2 negative ones, even though there were more restaurants I wasn't too crazy about. I remember when one cajun restaurant opened. The town is pretty small and people aren't active on Urbanspoon, but when this place opened people came out in droves. The owners even came on to respond. It was so weird. Very few, if any, of these people wrote about other places they liked. It didn't last long and they people never came back to the site. _________________ I am Torgo. I am going to try to catch Eisley on the 1st in Dallas ... A class I have right before might prevent me, especially with that professor ... Until I actually see them, I don't think I'll be able to judge them. Especially not from a youtube video. I imagine I won't care at all until I actually hear them make new music. I mean, I care and want Stacy and Chauntelle to be there, but really, I don't care about judging their music until such point. _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |

It's funny, but the tenor of this thread is very reminiscent of the period immediately following the release of Combinations. Combinations, to be fair, just was not Room Noises. However, it was a wonderful album in it's own right, and indeed is now seen as very traditional Eisley. But the conversation then was as it is now; can a band, or a person for that matter, continue to exist without growing and evolving, and in the process changing? _________________ Mike=] |

The Man In The Moon wrote: to be honest, it's hard to not feel this way when the band seems to be going in separate ways. i know they're writing another album, but with everyone having their own side projects, it almost seems like an afterthought. And johnip said he didn't mean the thread to be about the band. But I was reflecting today. Last week I finally bought Currents (since I started adulting I have not been able to blow all my cash on CD's). Near enough the 11 year anniversary of me first finding this band. I feel like I grew up with them and many of you. Such is life. Life diverges, we go on different paths, sometimes we reconnect. That is what has happened to Eisley, and I find it no big diilalio, for that is the way life goes. Ho hum. _________________ She is handsome, she is pretty, she is the girl from Belfast City, she is courtin' one two three, please won't you tell me who is she? Also I just found out the band pretty much broke up. Damn. Not a break-up, more a rebuild. They went from being like the Chicago Bulls last year: Rose, Butler, Noah, Gasol to the Bulls this year: Butler, Wade, Rondo, Lopez. In the studio then vs now Sherri - vocals, guitar - same Garron - bass, guitar - same Weston - Percussion - same | Live: Remington Stacy - vocals, keys, guitar | Live: Christie (vocals) Shealeen Pluckett (keys, background vocals) Chauntelle - guitar, vocals | Elle Pluckett (guitar) In studio Eisley is stripped back to a 3 piece outfit, and 3/5 is still a majority. And who knows, since certain kinfolk were in tour during recording, who knows who might be featured on this record? _________________ yup, that's my name. Well, this place may have come close to the chopping block. Boyd dropped the rest of the website, but left this. I don't think it was linked from the website though. I kinda wanted to save what I wrote about all the Music I listened to. Is there any way I could copy that easily instead of going post by post and copying and pasting? _________________ I am Torgo. Boyd dropped the rest of the website, but left this. Wow that means that the only way to get here is if you have it favorited or know to go to eisley.com/laughingcity. _________________ ![]() we're really not alone, we have each other |

When I said I was here to "save the forum," I meant "Make it almost impossibly hard to find this place once I returned." Just to be clear. _________________ EvilSpace |
