Not favorite like Wil posted. I tend to be able to separate on what i feel is the best song versus my favorite. as an example, my favorite Beatles song is Hey Bulldog. But I know that's not their best song. So, with that in mind, taking all the catalogue in play what do you feel is thier best song? I have a few that I feel are in the top HATS Ambulance Better Love Golly Sandra But I am torn between these two for the same reason. Memories Ten Cent Blues I feel both show Sherri and Stacy's ability to play off each other and sing together. Plus they are amazing tunes. What are your thoughts? _________________ Wil's excellent description of me. wilsmith wrote: You're the Anti-Censorship+Topless Twitpic Parodying+Youth Group Video Directing guy that's a champion for the 1st amendment, Videogames as Art, and unrepentant file sharing... At first I was like, "Oh, it would be Pine's dumb luck to have his reply bumped to the next page of my thread..." And then I read his post and the dread started to creep in. Competition in music, how I loathe it. So many of us here are musicians to some degree, and all of us are fans, so what constitutes best is going to vary. What song showcases whichever aspects of their talent and craft we value the most? It's arbitrary, but people like arbitrary arguments. I used to love the VH1 show The List where this is exactly what they did on a nightly basis with celebrities. A condensed edit of an episode - https://youtu.be/z2euadb4Sm8 Best Eisley song, as far as arrangement, musicianship, and vocal performances of all members of the band... I'm not going to give it too much thought, but it was going to be a limited pool of songs because not everyone sings on every song, even considering harmonies. So having narrowed the field severely that way, and wanting all instruments to be represented as well... I picked one that I think showcases the essence of their styles over the years melded together with their growth as writers and arrangers... https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=qa1crltNBAs&feature=share also, the best :44 of any Eisley song??? Maybe these https://youtu.be/6K7ID7lCcZI?t=130 _________________ yup, that's my name. FOR YOUR RATING PLEASURE: 4 LIKE Buttons, 1 NEUTRAL, 1 VEXED, 5 DISLIKE buttons. I'll admit, I've never been able to figure out what separates a good song from a bad song. With movies or books, I can respect a story well told, well-written prose, good cinematography etc. even if I don't happen to like it. I also have guilty pleasures with books and movies... things that I recognize aren't great, but I still love them. With music though... I'm hopeless. It all seems so subjective to me. If my ears happen to like something, I call it good. So... I dunno. |
