Post subject: We lost The Man In the Moon (Michael Cheng / Alex Sonatore)
Posted: Fri Feb 24, 2023 6:22 am It's been a heavy-hearted winter for many reasons, and with the loss of Mrs. Dupree this forum is especially haunting. Last night while checking in on social media briefly Alex was tagged by a friend of his in a post memorializing him. It had been a little over a week since he and I had last messaged, talking music as always, Eisley, Paramore, Fleetwood Mac. From all the posts I could only gather that it was a sudden illness. He lost his father a few years back, and his mother this winter. He has a sister but I am not sure if she is here in the states or back in Taiwan. He had recently come back to Nashville after handling his mother's affairs there, and visiting other places while abroad, establishing new ties. I just want to acknowledge The Man In The Moon for those of you who still come by here time to time, but have not maintained communication outside of the forum. He was a very sincere and warm-hearted soul that put his all into the things he loved, his art and the art of those he was inspired by. He was 31. https://www.phillipsrobinson.com/obituaries/Michael-Cheng/#!/Obituary _________________ yup, that's my name. Thank you for sharing the sad news Will. Very sorry to hear. It's a weird feature of modern life that you can loosely correspond with someone for years, and appreciate their presence in your sphere, but only find out who they were when they pass. Being quite a bit older than average for the lc demographic , I suppose I always carried the subconscious expectation that I would long predecease most of you. It's quite jarring to confront the reverse when it happens. It feels very inverted. He was much too young. Condolences to those who knew him and are suffering the loss. |
