fact is even if they did play it they'd be unlikley to play one of the bigger stages cos no-one knows of them over here. if the album is released in spring and promotion generates a lot of interest then maybe. however if the album is released in the summer, glasto is the last weekend (?) in june, at least its the weekend after the summer solstis. so while it would act as a promotional thing for the album unless they were to play one of the 2 main stages then surely not that much interset would be generated. plus a headlining or supporting club/theatre tour would surely be of more worth in generating interst in the band, a festival is a festival, they may generate some interest but i doubt very much they'd be of great value, look at the v festival, estimated that ~20-25000 people saw eisley over the 2 days, how many people joined this forum as a result? probably about 20 tops, most of whom dont post. how many people bought the ep as a result? i dont know but i'm guessing not a ground breaking amount. point is if they play glasto it is highly unlikely that they'll play to any more people than they did at v festival last year. still im sure it would be a good experience for the band, and boyd. the end. ps i talk sense, i'm sure of it! _________________ "A mathematician is a blind man in a dark room looking for a black cat which isn't there." - Charles Darwin (legend) |

i still say that relying on festival audiences to generate interest is a definite no, especially Glasto because it is the most non-commercial of all festivals, people go for the experience not necessarily specific bands. a support slot or co-headline tour would, i'm sure, make more sense. _________________ "A mathematician is a blind man in a dark room looking for a black cat which isn't there." - Charles Darwin (legend) |
