Whoa Wicca really is popular, I guess I should join.
JUST KIDDING!!
I would never change beliefs 'cause of a "fad".

P.S. I'm not accusing anyone here of doing that.

im a devout Christian (not just pretending to be because all my friends are), but if you ever want to talk religion/spirituality i always like discussing with people with different views. not to subversily try to convert you but just because i find it makes me stronger to know other worldviews. so yeah...

also, uhm religion is usually a touchy subject so allow me just to remind everyone who reads this thread of a few of the rules and guidlines.

the Rules wrote:
"Do not attack someone for their opinions. Everyone has their own opinions on a variety of topics - especially so concerning music - and it's OK to disagree. If you disagree with someone, disagree nicely and do not make personal attacks. Name-calling, insults, and other such attacks online are called "flaming" and are not acceptable."

"Avoid provocative subject matter. Reviving topics like Creationism VS Evolution, gun control, or challenging people's religious convictions is ultimately unproductive and breeds bad will. They are not a good way to 'entertain' or 'liven up' the forum."

not to be legalistic or anything, i just don't want to see this thread get nasty...

I have many friends who are Wiccan, or Wittian. I myself am not Wiccan, though my personal belief is a lot of Christianity combined with elements of pagan Druidism. Both earth-based, but there's no magic ritual in true Celtic Druidism.

Wow, is that an est. religion, in other words, are the organized churches (or whatever you call them) for that?

I'm Christian too. So far this thread isn't ugly(let's keep it that way Wink )

Druidism is pretty much an extablished religion, but it's sually just grouped under the broad spectrum of Paganism. The one big organization I know of is the Ar nDraiocht Fein (ADF). I'm not a member or anything, since I don't follow 100% of their tradition.

Wicca is another earth-based pagan faith that was created I belive in the 1920's, from a variety of pagan European practices. It is the belief in a non-Christian God and Goddess, and uses a good deal of magical ceremony. I really don't know much about it, as I steer clear of magic ritual -- it unnverves me. It's often confused with other strange practices, like all the crazy stuff Aleister Crowley was in to. I'd say that there is a big difference between paganism and occultism. Unfortunatley, a lot of people who walk into this stuff don't bother to do the research.

Yep. They call them churches or temples with schedules, classes, buildings and everything else associated with other religions. They even have denominations (they call them traditions but it's the same thing).

It's my opinion that true druidism is a dead/lost wisdom.

I don't believe you can make things happen by lighting candles and chanting incantations.
Then again, I got a voodoo doll once and used it on my ex-girlfriend. I used a lock of her hair and stuck a pin in the dolls arm. Two days later she broke her arm during a soccer game.
What a coincidence...

Beat it
