 Post subject: My review of all three shows....Posted: Mon Apr 26, 2004 9:01 pm 
Well, I've had a request to post my review of the shows. I am not sure why anyone would really care what I thought. I mean, I am mom to 4 of the band members, so, would I not like it? 
But, here goes.... first off, I just have to say that it was amazing to see how Eisley's fan base has grown. I really didn't know what to expect for the turnout in CA, but, I was floored. It was so cool getting to meet and talk to the fans, and people from the board. I/we all love that part. I've said it before, but it is so true, you the fans, keep Eisley inspired. Now for my review: It's hard to describe the way it feels to watch my kid's on stage. People always come up and comment, "you must be so proud!". I always find that comment a bit hard to respond to because, I was proud of my kid's before they did this, so they seem like the same kid's to me, but, yes, I am proud of them. However, not just because they make incredible music, but because of their character. That's what makes me the most proud. So, I will tell you how I was affected by their shows, and new music. It always feels a little bit weird to be standing in the crowd, and listening to their songs as a fan, and not just a mom. I am, and was again, captivated by the beauty of their music. The new songs are absolutely beautiful, and their confidence level on stage has grown tremendously since the last New Year's Eve show. I find myself praying, and wondering if the world will embrace their music. Not because I am hoping for financial success, but, because the world needs this music! It is a new hope in the run down music industry. It's not "buttRock", (or my new term), "slut/Rock", it's just really good music, and it is needed. I love Sherri's hair, (even if it was purple), and I am proud that the girls will wear a tie on stage if they feel like it, and really don't give a flip if people compare them to Avril Lavigne, or Pink, or whoever. They are not complicated, (no pun intended), they just are who they are, and they don't try to pretend that they are anything else. When is the time to try different hair styles anyway? Surely not by the time you are my age. I love to watch Chauntelle sing her guts out to all the songs, even though she doesn't sing in the mic. Life is short. Have fun. (the above paragraph is in response to some of the recent reviews) I am proud of Weston and Jonathan. They are such an amazing part of the band, but, don't get much credit or attention, and they are not jealous . They get less attention than Boyd who is not in the band, but, they are solid background pieces to the Eisley puzzle. Well, i am about to fall asleep. I am very worn down after the drive through the night to get back to LA today, and I fly home tomorrow, but, I am thankful for my time I've had out here, and EISLEY WAS FREAKING AMAZING! That's my two cents

The world needs their music, indeed. Good review.

I was at the SF show and I was floored. The EP’s don’t even compare to the band playing live. The crowd looked enchanted as the band played through their songs. Everyone on stage seemed like they enjoyed being there as much as the crowd did. They were also so nice after the show, staying to sign and take pictures. That was one of the best nights of my life. I also really enjoyed the opening acts. Richard Swift and Annie Stela had stellar performances. _________________

hehe "slut/rock" - it's a shame to see the music industry resolve to that. the world needs Eisley rock! good to hear the shows went well. |

You speak the truth Mrs.D. Eisley is quite an awesome band. I still find it shocking how much I really love the band. I'm not a sexist or anything like that but I don't dig very many female groups/singers. In fact, the only female musician I listen to besides the Eisley girls is Bjork. But ever since Erick (the hollow days) showed me the marvelous things video, I was hooked. I found myself hunting for the EPs, buying the stickers, poster and shirt online. Then when I saw them live in San Diego... I was done. That was it. Eisley officially owned me. Then when I drove up to LA to catch the Troubadour show, that really put me deep in the spell that is Eisley. Stacy and Sherri's voices are hauntingly beautiful when they hit those notes together... It seriously sends chills down my spine. I'm actually really scared of both of them, but that's beside the point. Chauntelle's guitar work is not to be neglected either. She knows what works. No ridiculous guitar riffs that'll only rob the song of it's glory by grabbing the spotlight. I just wish she'd sing already. She really gives it her all when she's rockin' out on stage while singing. Like you said though, Jon and Weston don't get as much attention, but they're awesome too. Jon has a slick sound on the bass. I'm trying to learn the bass lines to the songs so maybe I can use some of his style to improve my own. And Weston's drumming is incredible. The fact that he doesn't use as much of the needless stuff other drummers do, he's got some really impressive stuff. I love the drumlines to all the songs. Never the same thing, not like alot of the crap drummers out there. And he's only 17/18! Needless to say, meeting them only quintupled my love for the band. All of them are "Very Classy" a term I seldom use for anything. You have alot to be proud of. Apologies for the length of this entry... But once I got started, it was kind hard to stop. jon is definitely a rockin' bassist. A nice guy too, but kinda quiet. Tried to talk to him at a SF show a few months back, but felt kida stupid afterward. Kind of like I felt after trying to make conversation with Sherri and Stacy. Kim, you rock. I got to talk to you at the SD and LA shows. Ricky, I'm so mad at you for not talking to the band, and to Boyd. You were so sweet. Everyone would have loved to have met you and talked with you. If I had known you were being all shy and stuff, I'dve drug you over to 'em all and made you meet 'em! I really enjoyed our conversation. Maybe we'll meet up with you again sometime. |

yeah, don't get me wrong. He's great. I was just by myself at the show and very excited to see them for the first time. I wanted to say hi to all of them and I was at a loss for words for once. It was really great to finally meet you, Kim. I'm a very asocial person but, meeting you and Boyd was very special to me. You seemed great and I'm happy that you have recovered so well.
Often, while listening to Eisley's music, I forget how young they all are. I love Sherri and Stacy's vocal interplay and Weston's drumming is just, WOW.

I seriously considered asking them if they wanted to get coffee this whole time they've been in my neck of the woods, but I don't know, I just figure they don't have time.
