does anyone think eisley should come out with a "behind-the-scenes" dvd after the full-length comes out? like with all the pre-production, production, post-production of the new release and other easter eggs and such. also stuff similar to the clips that boyd posts or the actual clips that boyd posts. or do you think that should be an exclusive eisley fan-base thing that only people on the forum and hard-core eisley fans should have and not the general public who say they're fans but just buy the dvd and say, "oh i remeber them when they were making their album," but really they just watched the dvd and proclaim they've been there since the beginning like us but they really weren't. sorry i went a little crazy. that might be a run-on sentence. or even a live dvd with performances. man, my mind is going crazy with dvd ideas. i need a break... haha... |

There was some chatter a while back about possibly releasing a DVD packaged with the full-length... Just a short number; some clips, probably the stuff that Boyd's already posted for us, maybe a music video or two. I think it's a great idea. QuickTime clips are great and all, but when it comes right down to it, I wanna watch stuff on a nice big screen. I have enuf footage to make 5 dvd's, but I don't think WB is interested in doing a dvd or anything. I suggested an enhanced cd when talking to New Media the other day, but they're saying it's sorta a waste of effort and money because nobody cares or pays attention to them. They have research that shows nobody watches them and overall, I think it's true. So when you're talking about extra products like DVD's - Eisley is a new band; they won't figure there's much market for a dvd. Recoupment would be tough. Not a good business move. If they were freaking Coldplay, perhaps - but they'd be shooting with expensive cameras from 5 angles and multi-tracking, etc. Who knows... I might be wrong. The only way to do something like this is thru....I can't say it. I hate the words. Though I can see a benefits to Eisley friends/fans, I can't get past the idea. WB wants to have a subscription based deal that gives fans special things for free.... like b-sides or a dvd, I dunno..signed stuff, xtra's, whatever...they buy bulk tickets (the best seats) and reserve them for members... You know what they're called. I can't say the words. Some subscription fan sites have actually reached their max membership level and have suspended taking new memberships. The ONLY fan club that I would pay to join is Eisley. I don't mind paying for extra stuff at all,in fact I'm happy to because when i like a band I tend to go out of my way to collect rare stuff and whatever but it feels like we as fans would be somewhat held to ransom by the record company if this happens...and what good would the reserving tickets thing be for people outside the US?meaning someone from say Australia like me wouldn't be getting the same value as an american member yet paying the same amount and that wouldn't be fair,I'm sure there would be other examples as well but i won't rant too much just yet  .
Fan sites are alwats better than crappy record label ones anyways and have much more interesting stuff. _________________

I was just thinking of it as a forum thing.. like something we'd just mail around to each other not something "official". but yeah i didn't even think about the resolution. it would be relatively painless to sneaker net large files onto straylight6 if it came down to bandwidth being the main problem. It would be awesome to produce a forum dvd and then distribute it with an ezine or something. the key is getting sources but i just don't think that is gonna happen. methinks the label has been pretty generous as it is with all those studio vids. ...maybe someday though. _________________ "Religions have started on lesser revelations" - investor on MarketWatch.com |

i don't think many people beyond us eisley fanatics would really be interested in seeing half of the video clips that have been released. i think the best that could be done would be for boyd to put together a good two hours plus of quality footage under some general theme, let's say: the experiences leading up to and including the recording of the album. and release it here at eisley.org in any case, that's the direction that music is going; i expect bands will soon have all their albums available for download, and day by day a band's website becomes more important. give it 10 years or less, and the whole music "industry" will be online. that will be some good $#@! _________________ "You're my favorite person." - David Carradine, Kill Bill vol. 2 |

the thing is it doesn't have to be for anyone besides us efreaks. take Jamie''s ezine for example, there was nothing official or 'for-profit' about it, it was just somthing the forum put together for fun.
