start by listening to 'marvelous things' and 'laughing city' on headphones
then pull the headphone jack out about halfway

it's a whole 'nother band you'll be listening to.
they sound tougher
but at the same time
they sound softer.

it's amazing

i used to do that with KoRn CDs back in the pre follow the leader days... it was weirdness... i cant remember but im pretty sure that Head's guitar, and davids drums, and some of Jons vocals came through..

I'VE DONE THAT BEFORE.

with eisley, and with muse, and with radiohead... and a ton more.
it only works with certain bands, and certain recordings...

I like running a vocal cut on recordings in Adobe Audition; that is when strange things can start to happen. On a couple of Radiohead songs it removes the instruments all together, making for a nice acapella Thom Yorke.

i did that like a long time ago with laughing city!! it all happened by mistake, but it was so awesome. i could hear the girls in one ear like an echo, and then the hard melody in the other! wow i need to try that again
