So yes, I don't really know what to say about how spectacular and wonderful last night was. The only thing that wasn't wonderful was getting lost in Providence. Very lost. I went with my friend Scott, and we ended up in the middle of some less than savory neighborhood. We stopped there at a 7-11 to ask some cops that were chatting with the locals. When the officers were giving us directions one of them pointed at us and said, "What are you white boys doing here?"

We followed the directions and ended up at the venue with four minutes to spare until doors open. I got meself one of the lovely new shirts, and a copy of Laughing City since I couldn't find it anywhere else. I have no idea who the first band to play where. Blizzard of '78 or something like that. I know that they were aiming to impress by jumping on stage with beer and cigarette in hand. Regardless, I would say I am less a fan of their music now than when I walked in there. Seeing as I knew nothing of them prior to thats how, that puts my love of the band in the negatives. Moving on...

Eisley comes and and all the world is right. I don't really know how to describe it, but it was a good 45 minutes of musical bliss. They played Memories and I Wasn't Prepared, which gave me chills despite being in a 1000000000000000 degree room. In between songs they kept asking if the crowd was excited to see Snow Patrol. Forget about Snow Patrol, I came to see Eisley! The show was well worth all the trials and tribulations it took to navigate through Providence. I was so blown away by the greatness of it all, I think I'm still floating off the ground. After their set i got to go meet the band and have my Laughing City EP signed, except for Stacy and Weston who snuck off into the night before I got back there. I was also able to chat with Boyd for a bit. A nicer bunch of people I have never known.

Thank you Eisley for rocking like that![/i]

I forgot there was this band called Snow Patrol there too Rolling Eyes . I don't know a lot of their songs, but their performance was pretty tight. At one point the singer fellow jumped up on a speaker/box/thing with his guitar and started kicking the symbals. At the same point, the TV next to the bar was showing a preview of a Tony Danza show. I thought that was hilarious.

i was there, too. what did you look like? or what were you wearing?
because chances are i saw you (it was such a small club).

but yeah. their performance was definitely amazing.
and they are the nicest people you will ever ever meet.

my story: i caught the end of their soundcheck. they played memories. i was singing on the sidewalk. so blizzard of '78 played. they were good. nothing great. the lead singer was drunk. he couldn't walk. haha. eisley came on. they played. chauntelle gave me her setlist (how sweet). bought a poster. chauntelle, jon, and sherri signed said poster. talked to boyd. went outside and talked to boyd and chauntelle there (the rest of the band was shining a flashlight on an old couple who was making out). it was amusing. and then after about 15 minutes, i had to go. le sigh.

eeeeee. too bad the boston show is 18+...

xoxo conor

Ha, on the drive home my friend that I went with commented on how that singer looked either high or drunk. I would guess drunk since he decided to keep drinking in between songs. Razz

As for me, I was wearing a dark blue Shins t-shirt with the skull logo-thing on it. I'm a tall guy, so that might help.
