Pop punk is generally a lot deeper than it seems. You get a few of the singles you see, some of the shallower acts on TV or hear on the radio ... Look at Blink 182, for example. If you listen to only the singles, you don't realize how deep they can get until like their new album comes out. I guess it's akin to judging Eisley only on Telescope Eyes. Pop punk is a crossover genre in the first place. It's a genre created by crossing over from pure punk. Which would entail being open to something new in the first place. It's just been so homogenized by MTV and radio of late, that it sees like a completely hopeless genre. I'll stop running my mouth now.

yep. good point.

we're at the Apple store rignt now near downtown. (75N...Nash?
Henderson exit... McKinney street.) Anyway, trying to see about fixing
the girl's ibook. Then we might go over to that in store at Good records at
6:30 - 7:00. Then, to see Maimou live at the tea room.

ANYWAY...
but, it's all Warp tour kind of music, right? I caught most of the warp tour
that they televised recently... all the kids crowd surf and mosh. How can
they be candidates for eisley? ... am I over-stereo-typing? I'm concerned
there'll be hecklers... way worse than with Brand New. How diabolical -
Snow Patrol - more similar, don't get eilsey, pop-punk - way different,
but 'get it' more. hmmm....

well, the warped tour in general kinda sucks- i went two years ago to see brand new, coheed and glassjaw, but in general it's just a tour of about 40 bands who sound exactly the same and a bunch of kids who think that they're hot stuff for listening to them.

oh, and people who crowd surf should seriously consider the merits of lightning themselves on fire.

I went with a friend to the recent Seattle show, and "chicks with guitars" was pretty much his reason for going. So yeah.

Personally I don't like the idea. Main reason being that the ticket prices would be higher. And I'm not really that big of a NFG fan. Heck, I'm not that much of a pop-punk fan.

[RANT WARNING!]

Now that I think about it, how could there be "pop-punk"? Maybe punk influenced pop-rockers. But not pop-punk rockers.

simply put:

Pop is joiner music.
Punk is outsider music.

pop+punk= oxymoron

Me too. I just don't see it going over too well with those fans either. I don't know, I could be wrong.

I think they should tour with The Earlies.
The Earlies are from Texas.
OK, I kind of only want them to tour with The Earlies because I really like The Earlies.

Um, The Earlies. Smile

also taken from absolutepunk.net:

"At nothinggoldcanstay.com, Ian of New Found Glory posted that no bands have been confirmed for any of their tour plans next year. So, do take all the rumors as...well, rumors."
