Ok, I just turned 30 and bought tix to Eisley's NY show. Am I a loser? I'm noticing lots of posts that are saying "My mom won't let me go to the 12:15am show" and "Damn, it's 18 and older only" and now I'm feeling REALLY old. I also heard that they are christian and I am atheist, does that make me a hypocrite? Also, what is the setlist for the summer show. Anyone know?? |

Most of us range between something like... 1 and 70, I think. Mhmm... Oh yeah, and just because you don't have the same religion doesn't make you a hypocrite. They aren't a "Christian" band, they are Christians in a band, as I've heard them say. _________________ my name's carrie and i love a good sandwich so if you have a sandwich, come roll with me! i'm gonna marry the mars volta. |

It's true that the majority of Eisley fans are younger, probably between 16-22 or somewhere around there is my guess. I think Eisley do have lots of other older fans than many others bands, though. They appeal to a wide range and many different ages. My parents and my grandparents listen and enjoy Eisley, but I think the differnece is, lots of younger kids go to shows more often than older people. My grandparents and parents probably wouldn't go to an Eisley show---not because they don't enjoy them, but just because going to shows isn't as fun for them. I know some older crowds enjoy going to smaller shows, but I don't think there are as many as younger. |

Hey, welcome! I can definitely tell you that EISLEY'S fans range from very young, to quite up in years. The range is really pretty incredible. We are grateful for that, as well as the fact that there are people from all different belief backgrounds that have embraced them. This board runs the gamut as far as who believes what, that is one of the reasons that we try to tone down religious discussions because EISLEY has friends and fans from all different backgrounds, and this board is a place for all people that love EISLEY, (as well as other bands), to come and put aside their differences and have great conversations. I think you will be surprised at the age range at their show. At the Dallas show, I saw every age. From young to gray haired. It was really cool. Again, welcome |

not to worry.. I have shut down a few threads here.. the young uns are thinkin.... who is this old guy? what's he doin here?..... I don't know what the H*ll I'm doin here... All I know, is this band touched me deeply... I guess it's remembering all those feelings I had when I was young, and this band has crystalized or maybe the politcally correct term would be "emotes"..... what it is to be young,, full of energy, passion, vision, creativity... This band is going to crossover to all age groups in a big way... I remember when I played the "Meet the Beatles" Lp for my grandmother, who was a concert pianist for the Cleveland Orchestra (he-he..that is a bit of name droppin.. bet you can't beat that ).... anyway, I played her the Beatles, and she loved it ! I think I was all of 10 or 11 years old.... And she bought the album... because the Beatles had this energy melody-- that everybody loved. Good music transcends age...... this family---- man... these writers, are truly blessed. They have a knack for melody that is very rare indeed. _________________ Myspace Artist Webpage |

Hmm - If you're a loser, I guess I'm a total loser. I'm not as old as the 53 year old guy or the 73 year old Aunt, but you're a youngster as far as I'm concerned. I just happen to like lots of different music, and Eisley is one of them. The last time I would have even been in a Church was at a funeral - and that was over 15 years ago. As long as the songs aren't overly preachy (and Eisley certainly isn't even close) I don't care what the bands believe in. And for what it's worth, I flew over to London to see Avril Lavigne. What does that make me?? |

I'm 25. Eisley fans are all over the place age-wise. My older brother is 28, and he likes them, too. I know plenty of older fans, too. _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |

If I'm a loser, you're all losers. cuz... I'm not going to be a loser just because you say i'm not as young as I am old as I look... think again. Here's what I have to say: Music from the young is not only for the young, and not even for the young at heart. Eisley's reach currently begins to bog at the edge of the web - simply because the internet has been our "go to market" tool (since 2000, thank you very much). The on- line demographic is probably 14 - 22; at least that's probably where the heavy music seekers are. We must conclude, then, that a greater off-sometimes/on-sometimes demographic isn't being tapped into... (Yet...) If the record industry's "go to market" (Radio), kicks in at any point on this journey, the dynamic will greatly shift - especially considering that AAA is probably the only format that might be accepting of Eisley's music. (John Mayer, early Coldplay, Nora Jones, etc.) I have my reasonable doubts as to whether Eisley will ever get there - but, it's a possibility. Note: without radio, bands generally fade away and are remembered only by their deepest fans. I contend that 25 - 45's and up... will be very accepting of Eisley's tunes... like me. Come on... Beatles, Pink Floyd, Joni Mitchell, Simon & Garfunkle, Neil Young... on and on; melodies. creativity. I agree with you who've posted on this threat. I just don't know how Eisley will "get out"... I guess it's happening. I somehow believe it's just a matter of time, but odds aren't in their favor. 80% of signed bands get dropped before, during or after the release of their 2nd record. But... I digress. The orginators of this thread and those that followed said it best. Thanks, by the way. And btw. - this forum is wide open to anyone and everyone. I'd think we'd all be pretty stoked over having you older guys hang out...imparting your great wisdom upon us... _________________ EisleyWebGuy "The industrialists never saw the fruit of their own labor - Post Moderism, which I now proclaim as dead.
