has anyone noticed that in Stacy's line in the second verse, the melody sounds almost exactly like "I'm Just A Little Black Rain Cloud"? I mean, it fits with the whole, "i shall never grow up, make-believe is much too fun", idea.

I thought this thread was going to be about the "we would throw all our leaves in" line. That always reminds me of Pooh Sticks.

Yeah. Only you're speaking of the melody, and I thought of the words. But it's funny how it works out.

well, now that you mentioned it, i see it in the lyric too, which makes me think that it was pretty deliberate in the arrangement of the song. i should go back and read the Pooh books again.

I was surprised to see a thread about this. Brightly Wound has always reminded me of Winnie the Pooh. Especially the line "lets go far away to the humming meadow". I was recently in "The House At Pooh Corner" at a community childrens theatre. In the play they constantly talk about meadows and songs that are "hummy".

I don't remember seeing any dragons in Winnie the Pooh though. Very Happy

Brightly Wound will always hold a special place in my heart because it's the first Eisley song I heard on the radio.
