Post subject: Sherri and Chauntelle were at a Hanson show last month
Posted: Sat Dec 24, 2005 4:16 pm This is too cool, I'm a huge fan of both and I love it when bands show up at other band's concerts. Here's the URL. I love the picture http://spiderdiaries.richmond.edu/leah/index.php?d=01&m=12&y=05 _________________ Don't you let them tell you you're an ugly child. They are blind to the beauty that lies within |

Ben, that is Sherri and Chauntelle. (you are kidding right?) Boyd, me, and the girls all went. We had been wanting to meet the Hansons for many years. We have always felt that if it were ever possible, it would be a good thing to do, since our families are very similar in what they do, except, Hanson had the instant success. (not that they didn't, haven't, and still do work for it.) We were also very interested in hearing their story, and hearing what they were doing now. They have launched out independently, and their story is full of valuable lessons for any band. Many Universitys that they just finished touring at, are incorporating thier documentary into their music curriculum. I hope we get to see that someday. I think eventually it will come out on DVD. Boyd and I met there father. He was so gracious to talk with us. The girls were whisked backstage by a mutual friend/fan of Hanson and Eisley, and were introduced to the Hansons. The guys already knew of Eisley, and were very kind, and encouraging to Eisley. It was a fun trip, a great meeting, and hopefully a continued friendship. THE SHOW - WOW! Those guys have been at this for so many years. They were flawless with all of their skills. They never miss a note, are quite the entertainers, and we all left needing hearing aides from the packed filled room of 1800 screaming girls! In the middle of their show, they dimmed the lights, hushed the crowd, and asked for silence, as they sang a flawless, three part accapella (sp?) hymn tribute, to their three grandparents that had passed away that very week. None of us DuPree's had a dry eye. It was the most moving moment of the entire show. Every one of those boys have incredible vocal skills and power. So....there ya have it! |
