Post subject: Make an awesome Eisley desktop and you could win a prize!
Posted: Sat Oct 06, 2007 12:27 pm Some of you have noticed the dearth of Eisley desktop pictures available. I think we should fix that. There are many of us skilled at the ol' Photoshop (and Photoshop-like programs), and we could make some really awesome stuff. And to entice everyone, there will be a prize or so! After we get some entries, we'll start a poll. And whoever wins the poll will get five Eisley stickers. There might be other prizes, too. But that's all I can give. So, a few rules: 1) Please just don't crop a photo and call it a desktop. That's probably nice and all, but there should be some substance to it. BUT, you can do it if you want, if it works. It'd better work. haha 2) Don't use photos known to be stolen from the band. The chances of this are slim, but if you're going to use wedding photos or something, you probably shouldn't. 3) Try to make your desktop in various sizes. Does anyone know what common resolutions are? Personally, I'd appreciate 1280x854 entries. I never can seem to find a desktop to fit this wide screen properly. 4) Multiple entries per person are acceptable. Just try to limit it to three (3). This does not count various resolutions of the same picture. So you can make 10 resolutions each for 3 different images. If that floats your boat. 5) Do not make any disparaging remarks against the band with these. If I even needed to bother saying that. ha ha. 6) Try to use the current lineup of the band. If you use an old image, make it some kind of retro theme, maybe? But current desktops are more appreciated. 7) The deadline for the contest is SUNDAY, OCT. 20, 2007. I'm looking forward to some awesome backgrounds. Have fun, everyone! P.S. If you have prizes to offer, we can add to the potential booty. _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |

If we can pick up a few more stickers or some other prizes, we can have an individual/partial-group category, too. hmm. _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |

I made a simple one, basically just editing together bits of existing stuff so it's not very original. These are all final versions now: 1440x900 16:10 http://www.sendspace.com/file/haj5g7 Alternate 1440x900 16:10 http://www.sendspace.com/file/1kppix Non-widescreen 1280x960 4:3 http://www.sendspace.com/file/urolma Alternate Non-widescreen 1280x960 4:3 http://www.sendspace.com/file/kopyxg Altered for Mac laptop's? resolution/aspect ratio: 1280x854 16:10.5 http://www.sendspace.com/file/jjfjxd Alternate 1280x854 16:10.5 http://www.sendspace.com/file/qz1uum The alternate versions look like this: _________________ we're really not alone, we have each other |

The first entry, and it's good! Thanks. The photo is a little blurry and got worse when I saved it. It must be the compression even though I had it on 100% quality. I have Paint Shop Pro but it won't load on my Vista machine so I'm using a freeware version Magix Photo Clinic. I'm not used to it and it's not so good. I made a 1280x854 version anyway though, I linked it on my first post ^. _________________ we're really not alone, we have each other |

Get the gimp. It's awesome. Yes, thanks. I must try it. I read about it on here before, I think someone said Sherri uses it. I downloaded it long ago but never installed it. _________________ we're really not alone, we have each other |

I really liked that desktop, Nowhere Man. I'll probably use it soon. :] Here's a Sherri one I made some time ago. It's only 800x600, but I'll make it in a few more sizes later today. http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j311/damadelbosque/queenofleaves-1.p ng |
