ok. i vowed this with combinations. i was not gonna watch any live footage of new songs. i was gonna listen to the cd, everything new and fresh. i was gonna be blown away by each song for the first time.

and soo of course i listened to every link people put up from youtube and consequently heard 99% of the cd before it came out. you all tempted me and i gave in.

but no more!

i vow once again to NOT listen to what is sneak peaked so i can be surprised!

WHO'S WITH ME?
(insert cavalry charge and trumpets here)

what inspired this? boyd mentioned the start of recording new demos very soon.

it's on.

I'm going to hide in their studio to hear them as soon as they're created. Shocked

I'm torn on the matter. Surprises are great, but I really like watching how the songs grow over time (like "Many Funerals").

I'm going to hide in the studio and emit subsonic frequencies and be A PART of the CD forever.

i vow… well, no, i don't think i'll vow anything… i probably won't go out of my way to hear the new songs, or avoid hearing the new songs, or anything else — i'm just too lazy to bother either way…

I never listen to live versions of new songs unless they're the ones Boyd posts, because I've yet to encounter an Eisley bootleg or YouTube video that's high quality enough to give me any indication of how the song really sounds. So I'll be waiting.

not gonna lie. i'll be listening to the stuff. even after hearing almost every song from Combinations by watching videos on youtube. i was still SOOO shocked by how good the songs were. the entire time, i just sat there with a smile on my face. just taking it in.

My compromise is I will only watch/listen to new lives song once or twice. That way they will stay fresh.

I vow to listen to all their songs as soon as I can.

Really, why does it really matter? It's not like it's gonna make a huge difference if you wait until the CD is out and listen to it that day. Either way, you'll experience an awesome song, and hear great music... it's just WHEN you hear it.. so, I say, earlier the better! Razz

Exactly. I'm bad, I can't promise that if there's some live clip of a song I won't listen...but I think I'd rather hear the finished version first---or hear the song with the album as a whole---then be able to go back and hear the progression of the song, if it changes. Stupid weak willpower. Wink`
