Because they elected a black guy, or because they elected the best man for the job?

There is a huge difference.
No, because we elected a black guy who was the best man for the job. Jesse Jackson ran once...that was nothing to be proud of. Wink

You know what, I was just watching with gladness, but little emotion after that.

Just watching the nice speech by Sen. McCain and definitely when the President elect comes on, I have a feeling I'll be choking back tears...

And yes exactly...It's not just about him being black/biracial because there were many before who tried. He's qualified and no matter how many people debated it, fear mongered, or spread rumors, he was the best man for the job.

Both. They aren't mutually exclusive.

John McCain's concession speak was excellent, a really gracious end to an ugly campaign on both sides.

Wooooot Barack Obama winner by a landslide. No contest jeez, i did not expect that much a margin of victory 295 to 155 almost twice as much. McCain had a nice speech though after he found out, very nice, the crowd was a tad mean though.

Yeah, it was really nice, but I expected nothing less. The campaign did bad things to him. I also laughed when they booed Palin. She better not rear her head again.

Yes, with that very gracious concession speech, John McCain elevated himself to the status of 'Statesman!'

Not a landslide, but certainly a more comfortable win than the past few elections. The popular vote is pretty close (the one the matters).

McCain's concession speech was spectacular.

Jesse Jackson is a douche.

Good Luck Obama. Where's my free rich people money?

I wonder if we can boot Biden and give McCain the VP job.

That's how it used to be.

I am drinking celebratory asti. I live a mile from Middle Tennessee State University's campus, and when I went outside a minute ago I could hear sounds of jubilation.

That man is a class act. It is a real shame the campaign got so out of his control that he didn't have a chance.
