know which one I'm talking about?

I told her just to pick a song from one of their favorite bands.
I thought it was an excellent choice.

Yeah, that's what I'm planning to have her do, listen to a song (my choice, though, not hers) and draw whatever she feels like. Hopefully, like redboots said, she keeps this up for a little while at the very least.

That's what I did for mine.

What was the song?

I was thinking about sending her a song of my own, but then I didn't want her to feel she was obligated to literally represent the lyrics.

For No One by The Beatles.

No, not yet. I'll post it when I get it, which might be soon. (According to an email I got from Sherri recently.)

At long last...

Quick explanation:

I asked her to illustrate "For No One" by the Beatles, since I am a horn player (love the solo) and I had gone through an awful break up months before.
When she emailed me the picture she explained that she didn't incorporate a boy. It's a picture of a girl (me) listening and playing along with the radio. The girl has moved on past the break up, but the ghosts of the sad past still linger, as these things always do (She said the ghosts are singing the song in the background).

After watching what everyone else was getting I kept trying to imagine what I would get, and she totally blew me away. Though I wasn't expecting what I received, this artwork completely identifies not only where I am now in life, but how I feel as a person. Job well done! (I can't wait until it comes in the mail.)

Cool picture!

That little creature in front of her ankles seems to be a recurring character.

so as you guys know (or maybe not), i ordered a drawing for my sister for christmas. she had NO idea and her face was PRICELESS when she opened it up.

its supposed to be a representation of her. i sent sherri a picture and she did SUCH an excellent job.
then, after all the christmas presents were unwrapped and we were starting to get lazy, my mom runs up to her room and comes back downstairs with something held behind her back...
YUP! i got one too! my mom thought it was such a great idea for my sister and she knew i'd never suspect it.

recognize it? i actually saw it on sherri's flickr before i ever knew that it was mine. and even in my head, i was like, hey, i'm gonna be a nurse and hey, that's cute, and HEY, that's the same fawn that's in my sister's picture. but it never even came CLOSE to clicking with me, especially since its labeled "nurse evelyn" on the flickr.
thanks sherri! ur the bestest!

Aww, I saw Nurse Evelyn on her flickr and it's one of my favourites. I love it!

I also got my sister one for Christmas. It's up on Sherri's flickr. Maybe my sis will post a pic of it here later. She was soo shocked, even though she had already seen it posted. Ha, it was great.
