a soft drink is a drink that's not a hard drink, ie non-alcoholic, think about it, why did soda (which is what i call it) explode during the 1920's? prohibition! couldn't drink hard whiskey, had to drink soft drinks from the soda fountain (which is what they're called you know, which is why i say soda) _________________ welcome to the no pants club boone |

I once ordered a "soda" in a cafe in Ann Arbor, MI and the guy asked if I was from New Jersey. I guess pop or soft drink is what we are supposed to call it. |

People in this town get angry though if you aren't down with their lingo. I think it's just the defensiveness of college students mingling their cultures. I don't make many references to it because I hate carbonation, but if I did, I'd go with pop just because it confuses people to hear a soft drink being called "pop" these days. _________________ If the end of the world has proper noodles I'll probably be okay with it. |
