Their voices remind me of Sixpence, Michelle Branch (oldschool Michelle, look for Broken Bracelet), maybe Vanessa Carlton or Stacie Orrico or The Corrs, but the style is completely different, so... They don't sound like any other band, maybe that's why people like them? |

Eisley really reminds me of the Pixies. It's not as outwardly obvious, but there are some interesting similarities. _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |

the pixies comparison is lost on me. the pixies were very abrasive. i love them too. belly (tanya donelly) - the similarities are the beautiful imagery in the lyrics and the harmonies. mary timony - again the lyrical turns, the voices could not be more different. mary's has a laconic, alto voice and eisley has those voices that soar and just melt. |

hehe, that makes it sound as if there's a band factory making musical bands... guitarists, drummers...hehehe...all in one massibo warehouse. anyways, i like Belle & Sebastian, Dido, Led Zeppelin, The Trouble With Sweeney. And Midlake, o' course (but then, that really goes without saying ) _________________ She is handsome, she is pretty, she is the girl from Belfast City, she is courtin' one two three, please won't you tell me who is she? Could you elaborate on the similarities you hear between them, because I don't really hear any at all and I'm quite interested to hear what you're hearing. I said hear a lot. It's mainly a vocals/guitar thing. But I see Sherri's guitar as being the Frank Black role. He and Sherri play a simple-ish, strummy rhythm laying the base of the song to be accentuated by: Joe Santiago. Who played an insane lead, giving flavor to the song. Much like Chauntelle. Joe was/is more manic, but the guitar similarities are crazy. Just watch video of them live and it hits. The dual vocals are another common trait. Also, no one could classify the Pixies when they came out. What do you call it? It's still difficult to classify the Pixies. Just like Eisley. Both also share a knack for unusual lyrics/subjects and perfectly succinct pop music. So, that's the base of my Pixies/Eisley comparison. _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |
