The word is 20,000-30,000. There is no officialness to this, but those are the estimate I keep hearing. I think the 20,000 is a semi-official estimate a few weeks back. Maybe longer. It's supposed to be right around what the higher ups were hoping for, so they seem to be meeting expectations, at least. _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |

I'm sure they have longer-term expectations that have yet to be met. _________________ My photography:www.jamiemphoto.com You can't spell awesome without emo...backwards! -Julie definingawesome (11:44:11 PM): Eisley shivers our timbers |

well by the last count, above, they only have 83 copies to sell. They'll do that no probs, especially by December!! EDIT: changed one typo, which made a normal word dirty, back to normal. _________________ She is handsome, she is pretty, she is the girl from Belfast City, she is courtin' one two three, please won't you tell me who is she? Soundscan (Nielsen SoundScan is an information system that tracks sales of music and music video products throughout the United States and Canada. Sales data from point-of-sale cash registers is collected weekly from over 14,000 retail, mass merchant and non-traditional (on-line stores, venues, etc.) outlets. Weekly data is compiled and made available every Wednesday. Nielsen SoundScan is the sales source for the Billboard music charts.) apparently only covers like 80% of all music stores... So unless they're only selling to stores using this technology, or similar technology, I doubt they'll have it down to a single digit... So I'm assuming that was a joke? (you can also add on partial sales from online music download stores... they're not on iTMS though) |

I've heard everyone's pretty pleased with how well it's doing but is there like an "official" roadmap that they want to see sales follow? I have no idea. But here's some more interesting factoids: Eisley has sold 1,205 digital albums (iTunes, etc) for Room Noises. 32,917 total albums. By market they sell the most in LA followed by Dallas-Ft. Worth and then NY. In LA they've sold 3,029; Dallas- 2,432; and NY- 2,210. They've sold 204 Room Noises LPs (vinyl). Laughing City sold 19,582 and Marvelous Things sold 16,650. So combined that's 36,232. So, when Room Noises sells 3,315 more records they'll have sold more than their other two EPs combined. Anyone else thing 20k copies of Laughing City is huge? I've never heard of an EP sell that well. Neato. _________________ |

i wonder how far the summer headlining album will push Room Noises. I don't think there has been a major headlining tour yet for the new album. When the band was on granpaturtle's radio show i called in and asked about a second album and Jon said they were writing and stuff right now. I wonder how far out that album is out? ..2 years? The typical record contract is 2 albums i think, it will be very interesting when that second album comes out and the contracts come up for renewel. I don't think there's any risk of them being dropped (as of now) but with 2 full albums under their belt they'll have proven themselves and have a lot more leverage with WB.. i assume anyway. _________________ "Religions have started on lesser revelations" - investor on MarketWatch.com |
