or any other program. just said winamp because that's what i use.

but anyway, who DOESN'T have their playlist on random? I hardly ever have mine play straight through the list. I mean, you KNOW what's coming up if you don't have it on random, and that just isn't fun. Sometimes I want certain songs to go in order, though. I just mostly put it on random.

Sorry, I'm bored and trying to avoid my chemistry homework.

everyone of my playlists is a intricately crafted journey of emotion and tone, to set it on random would ruin the momentum... one song prepares the listener for the next and on and on. its a delicate process that i learned from making mix tapes...

I never use the random function, it never works out well. By sorting the playlist in different ways, I tend to get a more varied playlist and it tends to flow smoother.

With random the selections seem, well, random and I find myself getting the same artist, or album, or song, over and over again while other stuff is completely ignored (regardless of which program I use).

So, yeah. I never use random, but I don't really take much care in making playlists either. I just tend to slop together things that I think might possibly sound good together, and then dump whatever doesn't go with the other stuff, as I play it.

Or, and this happens more often than not, I just play my whole library.

all my songs are wonderful so either way it doesnt matter...

i think i put it on random once and it just uses that as a default now and im too lazy to fix it.

i do not like random at all. there is nothing lovely to me about jumbling songs all up in any order at all. i like to pick songs based on how i'm feeling at the moment. usually i get stuck on a song and play the same song way too many times consecutively. repeat is more my friend than random.
