We're going to light the ole English Tudor with lights again...
The two peaks of the roofline are like 35 feet... one of them hovers over
concrete...so, splatting wouldn't be good. If we fall from the roof, we
might just slide and crash 15 feet or so, but it's hard to hang off the
ladder to the left and right without falling...and at the towering heights,
we...or me...could slip on the slicky wet ladder...and drop with a dull
thump on the grass below. I'm being ridiculous, but...it scares me to
death every year. Now I have to pull up my digital file of the diagram -
showing me the strategic method to route the lights and electricity.
Ever see that Chevy Chase movie? That's like, our house when we're
done. It usually takes a day and a half...not because it's some big house.
It's just a regular house, but, we put a lot of lights on the sucker. Why?
Because we're real big into decorating and putting a lot of crap up every
Christmas!! It's not the "reason for the season", but... it helps our glowing
faces to shine when we go outside and look - with warm smiles on
our fireplace eyes... and the hearth of our head mantle flickers with
dash-away embers. And visions of Texas Tours dance through our heads.

Here we go. Laughing

bd

-------------------------------------

Climbing up...traversing the vortexial blump to the vertextial vlatress and
peaking the crest at nightfall.

This shot is looking down onto the tiny Weston below...
Looking down the valley where I almost lost my footing tonight and
skived down, down, onto Weston - who hopefully would break my fall.

Out there...to the tip of mount crumpit... that's about 15 feet out.

Well... see how scary? mom, mom...I'm on the roof!!

Dizzying heights... a shot without my scribbling.

Weston shoots me. "...When you say he's looking good, he acts as if it's
understood he's cool..."

Pwang!!

This is the decent.

That's looking down the back - where I can tap into plenty of juice.

For once, I didn't even make this coffee.

Chops is a trained to kill WARDOG - trained by the late, late Baroness
Froiline Muher', who, in war time, trained 30 rabid huskies for WAR
CRIMES and for eating their enemies at night... So, don't ever try to
get us.
------------------

Just a shot of the finished first round where we outlined the house. Now that I've built this all up, the final thing won't really be any big deal. Remember, the thread was started because I didn't want Weston and I to die... not to show anybody our lights. It's just evolved becuz someone asked for pics. When we get back from LA, I'll try to shoot something to
finish out this thread. Thanks. bd

Godspeed to you, fellows. I would prefer that Eisley doesn't have to find a replacement drummer, or begins only doing acoustic shows, and they'd lose half their fanbase without you, Boyd. Wink Anyway, seriously... Be careful putting up those lights. Let us know once you get them up and running--I don't want to hear "They look good even if they aren't lit" or anything of the sort! Cool

That's what I was going to ask, but I thought it might come off semi-creepy. Confused It would be cool to see the product of your efforts, and if it really stands up to Chevy Chase's decorating prowess... Very Happy

Yeah, I thought for a second about the creepy factor ... but I figured it would be at night and you'd only mainly be able to see lights. I already know where they live anyway ... beacause I have a friend who lives nearby. I'm not the type to abuse that kind of knowledge, though

well...reporting in...

We haven't died; I almost pooped several times after ooching out all the
way on one of the...uh, whadduh you call those things... jetty's...
peaks...uh...cornices....vortex... no.. um, crest of the pointy things... I'm
not a good construction worker... anyway, once you ooch way out there
on your butt, and it's almost straight down on both sides and you look
over the front straight down and weston looks like he's 1 foot tall, you
sorta swoon and almost poop.

Gotta go back out there...and up there. It's pitch black... from the roof
top, you can see Tyler... the wintery dead sticks from the pecan branches
that surround us, the cloudy sky lit by the horizon of lights, the lack of
Christmas Spirit portrayed by the boring neighbors who do as little as
possible this time of year... the chilli cold seaping into your furry gorrilla
torso. (wait, you can't hear cold) I need a furry gorilla torso.

Cheers! Jesse Munns just brough me a mocha from Starbucks. I'm
feeling the Spirit now!! I'll try to post pictures or something... if I live
through it, of course. Razz
