Didn't really know how else to get a message to the band, but saw Sherri's post about that Superman book and thought I'd share more if anybody is interested. Or you know... totally ignore me... :p

I have the book Sherri showed, but my favorite Superman book is called Superman: Secret Identity. Seriously... it's amazing. And honestly, I don't like Superman that much!

Another good one, again a Superman book, is called Superman For All Seasons which includes wonderful artwork by the great Tim Sale (who also does the artwork on NBC's Heroes).

A great, great, great book everybody should check out, is called DC: The New Frontier. Amazing! (they also just recently did a DVD movie based on it, but the book is better!)

I could go on... but... will wait to see if there is any interest before I bore everybody to death! Wink

Edited to add: oh! all can be found on amazon if anybody get the itch.

How would one describe Sherri's new hair color? I think it looks like the color Leigh Nash from 'Sixpence' has, which I really like btw Smile

Here!

Although I see you can only buy the most recent ones which is a bit of an issue.
They're excellent though.

Sherri should read:

"Batman: The Long Halloween" by Jeph Loeb
and
"Batman: Dark Victory" by Jeph Loeb (TLH's sequel)

Great stuff, right there.

Batman: Year One

They badly need to re-collect the early Eastman & Laird issues of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Sandman is a definite must have. I got the first volume of the Absolute edition series. Fantastic. Then again, I got a major discount on it since I work at a bookstore. I'm not sure I would have bought it had I had to pay the full $100.

TDKR though... Meh. I definitely think that is overrated. It is a decent read though, I suppose. The Dark Knight Strikes Again, however, is just plain atrocious.

DKR? Overrated? It's the only reason people are still talking about Batman now. Spitting in the face of convention and the mainstream. Definitely not the first person to do such a thing, but to do it ont he scale he did was impressive.

I liked DKR2 because it spits in the face of everything mainstream comics are right now ... even more. ha ha. It's way out there, but it's definitely an assault on the whole hyper-realism "we gotta see every seam and sweat stain" and overly serious demeanor hero comics are adopting.
