After reading some of the comments in this thread I would have though we just elected the Messiah as our next President...

I understand the Obama supporters are happy he won, but just don't go thinking he's going to end all poverty, find Bin Laden by himself, and make everyone's farts smell like flowers. He's just a human being.

With that being said, I'm very happy to have a change in the White House.

Haha, this is funny, and very true.

I just want to say that I did not want Obama to win. That I think his policies are not good for the country.

BUT...

I do hope I am proven wrong. I will be none the happier to be proven wrong in four years. To be told that Obama was the best thing that ever happened to the United States in 12 years. That would make me a happy man.

Not to see him fail, but to see him succeed.

I just wanted to put that out there. Take it for what it is worth.

one thing i heard on the news was that the expectations for Obama are impossibly high. I hope he's up to the challenge.

Some democrats have already taken this to be a mandated swing wild left, from their comments I've been hearing. Thing is, Obama's message at it's core was 95% of you will have your taxes cut. America is a center-right majority. The center mostly picked the liberal guy who promised a tax cut this time. Bush has been mostly a fiscal liberal who happened to cut taxes, so most figured give this other guy a shot as the Republican Administration had the economy tank in an election year. I wish Obama well in his many fights ahead against his own party. Understand your mandate is in the center, Obama, and you may be a good president.

A little bit off topic:

I just wanted to say how proud I am of young voters. It looks like overall, we came out in record numbers for this election. Regardless of who you voted for, know that your vote counted and you participated in an historic election no matter the result.
