I'm just asking this question because for such a long time i've been missing on the great music of eisley. The first time i heard eisley was during a video i was seeing in youtube. The background music in the video was marvelous things by eisley.Since then, i have just been obsessed with looking for more music and info from eisley,(thats practicly how I ended in laughing city).I've also been really anxious of finding a band with qualities and music similar to eisley's.

So....Answer the questions, where and what eisley song did YOU first hear?
what other music would you think is as good or
close to eisley's?

I Wasn't Prepared in 2003. I downloaded it because I got curious after a friend of a friend kept talking about them. She loved them.

Lost at Sea at Coachella 2005. I remember being mesmerized. I had planned to watch Snow Patrol during that time slot, and they were sounding bad. I started wandering to nearby stages and came across Eisley's set. Sure glad Snow Patrol's sound sucked that day.

I used to record The Dive, the one alternative music program which came on at 3 AM on MuchMusic (now Fuse) and caught 'Telescope Eyes' in early 2005. Thought it was a decent song, the video itself stuck in my mind more, I enjoyed the little ghost story. Then a couple months later someone sent me a mix mp3 CD which had 4 songs from Room Noises, 'Marvelous Things' was the first and I was instantly captivated. "WOW, this song is incredible! And so are the others, just the kind of music I've been searching for! Who are they? 'Eisley?' Hey, wasn't that the band with that ghost video??" Hunted and found the tape which I hadn't erased, and that's how I got my start.

These are all '90s bands but contain dreampop similarities with Eisley: The Sundays, Sixpence None The Richer, and Belly. I don't know any contemporary groups matching Eisley's combination of ingredients.

Really??? Leave it to a percussionist to correct my meter. I suck at counts anyways, but 12/8, let me tap that out... Yup, how dare I doubt it Laughing
