I'm curious to see what direction they go in with it. I hope they gone the direction of the first single, fully fleshing out the songs, rather than acoustic alone. _________________ yup, that's my name. Hmm. Doesn't look like Sherri did the cover, unless she is going in a totally different direction of what I most associate her with drawing. That's a pretty fast turn around from announcement to release. I wonder if they will have some unique album packages. _________________ I am Torgo. That's a pretty fast turn around from announcement to release. I wonder if they will have some unique album packages. i remember a long time ago them tweeting something about having white vinyl with a pink center if they got to do an album. or maybe it was the other way around. regardless, pink was involved. _________________ Oneironaut http://www.facebook.com/ChengBand |

Sounds like they just had a grand old time. It stands to be a fun listen sonically. Lyrically, it may be a little off the deep end for me. _________________ yup, that's my name. Fun song. I especially like the "horror story" part. _________________ we're really not alone, we have each other |

I love that she's writing lots of songs and has another musical outlet that makes her happy but since she no longer visits this forum, I can freely say that I don't think I can get into Perma much because after hearing this tune + earlier ones I'm almost certain on every song I'll be thinking "I would really enjoy this if that guy would just shut up." _________________ http://www.twitter.com/drstrangeblog http://www.last.fm/user/getinline I can't find the time to write my mind the way I want it to read. |

Aw I think he sounds good. It's not like he's out of tune. I haven't heard many Say Anything songs though. I like Wow, I Can Get Sexual Too. Reminds me a bit of Ben Folds maybe. Cemetery is a good song. The Painful Splits - Do The Dohnk _________________ we're really not alone, we have each other |

Max seems like a good guy and the right match for S in the hubby department, but when it comes to Perma it sounds like he's wringing sounds out of his larynx, trying way too hard and overstressing when he really doesn't need to for this music. I guess that's his style, but he could adapt a different approach for a project that is much different from SA. _________________ http://www.twitter.com/drstrangeblog http://www.last.fm/user/getinline I can't find the time to write my mind the way I want it to read. |

Did Christie make that shirt for Sherri as joke? I'm not following. Surely, it's not a real shirt sold at SA's merch table. Do they use Auto-Tune on Max's vocals? Something doesn't sound 100% natural. Either he just has some unique vocal sounds/bends, or Auto-Tune is bending his vocals alien-y. I also usually feel this way with Chauntelle's recorded vocals. Even Neko Case, so maybe there really are people that can bend their vocals a certain way that sounds like other people when their vocals have been digitally altered. Make sure you separate the use of Auto-Tune from T-Pain/Kanye West singing sound. There is that extreme where there is no attempt to hide it, and then there is more minor use, probably closer to what was originally intended when it was created. One way to compare is to listen to live tracks that are raw. Then again, singers can sing stuff differently every time. _________________ I am Torgo. I'm guessing that shirt was a solo tour merch item, since he's done a couple of those with Sherri over the last few years. _________________ yup, that's my name. FOR YOUR RATING PLEASURE: 4 LIKE Buttons, 1 NEUTRAL, 1 VEXED, 5 DISLIKE buttons. LC > FB = personal fave = Eisley fans should dig it |

I love Max's voice in his own Say Anything songs, although I didn't at first. One of the first songs of theirs I liked was Stephen Hawking, I really liked when he screams the "You're the son of a black hole" part, and it was awesome live! It is a little weird to hear his voice singing songs like Two of a Crime....but I still love the chorus and I am really excited to buy the album!!!! Sherri sounds amazing on the song, so I think it's great even if you don't like Max's voice. I also didn't think his voice sounded auto-tuned...but I don't know... I actually am very addicted to Say Anything now after seeing them live |
