ep1 was recorded many years ago, when stacy was only 9 (i think) and didn't play keys. It has the song pretender, dream for me, and blackend crown on it. ep2 was released about a year ago, and it originally had the songs telescope eyes, over the mountains we go, and head against the sky on it, along with the old ep1 versions of dream for me and blackend crown on it. at that point they stopped selling ep1. Then a little later the recorded mr. pine and laughing city with the help of the band midlake, and added those songs to ep2, to make it a 7 song ep. I hope that clears stuff up. _________________ are you a member of the slaves to their members? |

The Laughing City EP has new versions of Telescope Eyes, Over the Mountains, and Laughing City. It also has the new tracks I Wasn't Prepared and Tree Tops. That makes it a completely different from any of the older EPs. Basically, if you already owned EP2... buying the Laughing City EP would get you only two new songs. However, the "old" songs on the Laughing City EP are newer versions of the ones on EP2. Hopefully that all makes sense. _________________ "If you're a ninja, every day is like friday." -Jamie M. |

Yes, it does make sense. Thank you very much for your help. The whole EP thing always confuses me because of re-recordings and such. |

I just wanted to ease her confusion as much as possible. I certainly bought it even though I already have EP2 and had downloaded I Wasn't Prepared. I just had to hear this infamous version of Telescope Eyes and I really wanted a studio version of Tree Tops. As for the video... still can't get it to work. My computer does nothing when I click on the link. In my opinion, Tree Tops alone is worth the cost of the EP. And I like the newer version of Laughing City. I even like some parts of the new Telescope Eyes. So yeah... go buy it! _________________ "If you're a ninja, every day is like friday." -Jamie M. |

Clearing up the "EP1", "EP2" issue...from the mom. EP1 was recorded in Denton, TX at Panhandle House Studios. Stacy was 10, Weston 13, Sherri 15, Chauntelle, barely 18. It is no longer available for purchase from the band. EP2 was a collaboration of people that believed in the band and wanted to help get more of their music on a CD. As a one income family of 9 that supports a band, there wasn't a lot of money to get recordings done. It is an independent recording, in people's basements, bathrooms, whereever someone could help the band record. LAUGHING CITY was backed by their label, and recorded in two studios, with two different producer's, and is their debut international release. I hope this clears things up for sure! Sorry for all the confusion on this. Thanks, Kim |
