so bob and i were chewin the fat dis aftanoon, or evenin' not sure which...and i gots ta thinkin': Eisley and Wal Mart seem like made for each other.
Think about it...
Wal Mart hates the cursing in music, and bleeps all the CDs to maintain a family friendly atmosphere. Is anyone more family friendly than 4 siblings and their nex t door neighbor forming a band that their mon and dad support 100% and assist to no end? I DON'T THINK SO!
Eisley could like do Wal Mart commercials too, don't you want to see Sherri and the little happy face guy rolling back prices? Man tell the execs at WB that they need to get on the horn with Wal Mart cos these kids fit Wal Mart like a non OJ glove....

I shudder to think of it.

I go to Wal-Mart when I want to be hopelessly materialistic and cheap. Eisley is one of the things in my life that counteracts that. I'm a balanced person because I have Wal-Mart at one end of the spectrum and Eisley at the other. If they joined forces, all I've worked for would be lost!

Seriously, though. That's like Thom Yorke advertising for McDonalds. "New Chicken McNuggets. Now without wheat!"

But instead it would be, "See this lightbulb in my pocket? I bought it at Wal-Mart, where lightbulbs and every other item have a low low price, every day."

hey, if Eisley and wal mart fused, Eisley's cool factor would be SOOOO powerful, it would bring the giant corporation down to the common man. and if Thom Yorke started pawning nuggets, you damn well better believe i'd buy em...

hey, Eisley is gonna go platinum with this album, and its not "selling out" to wal mart, Moby had a great term for it, that i forgot, but they wouldn't really ahve to do a commercial, but Wal Mart should be aware that Eisley fits their electronics department hardcore...i still want the commercial though...

Wow, I actually disagree with Granpa on something! Shocked
I realize that there is a bit of jest in everything Granpa writes
so I won't freak out. I think one of the cool things about Eisley
is that they are unique and precious, those 2 words may as well
be antonyms for Walmart.

I suppose it should be specified that my first post in this topic was really in jest, just in case someone's taking it seriously. The bigger Eisley gets, the happier I'll be, and if that means Wal-Mart I can deal with it. However, the plan is crimped somewhat by the fact that Wal-Mart doesn't use real people in their commercials, at least as far as I can tell... Oh sure, they're real, physical people, but they're not who they say they are, and they're getting paid to say that their family shops at Wal-Mart, while none of the people in the commercial are actually related. Oh well.

EDIT:

So true.

oh no! i'm losing my biggest fan! i take it all back! SCREW WAL MART! hahaha, but seriously think for a sec. Wal Mart and Best Buy and them, they account for more than half of CD sales in the states, and Eisley needs to tap that market, and i'm thinking they really can, i'm thinking that both sides can see some benefit in a mutual agreement. But of course, i'm no marketing expert, just some f'ed up college kid from the greater DC area looking for patterns in the system...

Best Buy sells really cheap CDs. They are cool.
Walmart sucks, on the other hand. Down with Walmart.

yes, except that one of them is a corporate monster whose commercials are very, very unintelligent Smile

'Llo,

Yeah, I'm a newb, but I would still like to give my two cents.

I agree with granpaturtle on this one. I found out about Eisley from a friend, who heard about them from a friend. Well, she was looking for their CD, but didn't really know where to look. So, she went to Wal*Mart. But, it wasn't there. I looked into where she could find them, and I found Best Buy. The only other local place here in Indiana.

So, you have to admit, alot of people go to Wal*Mart. Not for just groceries or clothes or w/e, but also music. I'm sure Indiana isn't the only place that only has a Best Buy, and has never heard of the other music stores. So, why not make Eisley available where you're practically garenteed to find them? Come on now, Wal*Mart is North, South, East, West and probably will be the first company to have a store on the moon. I think it would be a wise decision for WB to get Eisley's CD there.

Eisley's music IN Walmart isn't so outlandish...Eisley doing Walmart commercials will never happen... I can't see them doing ads for Corporate America...unless it was Apple! sure. That could work...in exchange for a a bunch of powerbooks and a g5 for their dad.

Oh man. Totally. I bet Apple would do it too... I'll quote what I said in your journal a while back:

pzykotic wrote:
Idea: Call Apple and be like "Yeah so, we're a hip, pretty, young band. We use Macs and iPods exclusively and couldn't live without them. We're on a major label who will most definitely do an exclusive iTunes pre-release for our upcoming debut album. We use GarageBand to hammer out songs and play around."

They'll be like "Whoa!" and send you guys 6 17" PowerBook G4s and a Dual 2 Ghz G5 with 23" Apple Cinema HD display. Yup. Oh and some 40 gig iPods. Maybe 7 PowerBooks so you can hook up the mind behind the idea. Wink

Hmm. Normally I would cite Apple commercials as a benchmark in the fall of Jeff Goldblum's illustrious career, but a) Jeff Goldblum never had an illustrious career, and b) he's now in The Life Aquatic, which is being lauded by critics the world over, so I guess he crawled out of the Apple pit.

With that in mind, bring on the Eisley Apple commercials!
