In a recommendation of the band The Like there is this: "But the Like have songs à go-go: deceptively simple yet emotive offerings somewhere between the Cardigans and PJ Harvey, with a uniquely feminine, gentle teen angst and deliberate delivery recalling Texas phenoms Eisley." Huh wow. That's cool. Anyone ever heard these gals? The opening part doesn't give me much hope - (these three high school gals have a producer, a label exec and Elvis Costello’s drummer as daddies). I dunno, could be wrong, but they just seem like they're doing it because they CAN. Never heard em though, I shouldn't talk

I enjoy The Like's music. They write lovely little melodies. They're currently unsigned, but I think it's only a matter of time before they get a record deal. They're pretty young, too. Two of them are 18 and just graduated from high school and the other is 19. I love their lead singer's voice. Anyway, I think you'll like their mp3s. Just for the record, I was not trying to 'promote' The Like. I just thought it was interesting that Eisely was being used as a reference point in describing other bands. I don't know if the comparison is even accurate. People seem to have such a hard time describing Eisely's sound and now Eisely is being used to describe the sound of other bands. |
