tv's bad. almost all of it.
i would want to be very careful about what we become associated with if anything like that ever happens.
that's just me.

okay, i love Eisley and i really want them to be plenty successful in the music biz. But some of you guys with your merchandising and marketing ideas are a bit looney. yeah, lets put Eisley on 7th Heaven, bring in lots of fans! sadly, most of these fans are likely screaming teenyboppers who are much more concerned with style than music. been to a Phantom Planet concert lately? a perfectly respectable, good band with a theme song slot on the OC and suddenly their concerts are filled with "fans" who came to sing along to California and scream at the hot band members and leave. hell, even Modest Mouse is going down that path now, however inadvertently. Float On goes on The OC, then they get on clear-channel radio, then MTV picks it up....dear god, what has happened here! Modest Mouse is veering into product of the machine territory, and it's no fault of their own! scary thought. Let's respect Eisley as artists and musicians, not entrepeneurs. music is art, not a promo spot.

ugh, i'm gonna have to throw in my angry ness on this issue. So what if Eisley merchandises to make money? so what if screaming teeny boppers are at the concerts? will they still make incredible music? yes. and for me that's all that really matters. i want Eisley to make as much great music as possible, but if they can't sell at least platinum then they can only cut so many records. and then what? NO MORE EISLEY! yeah, scary f'in thought isn't it?
ok, maybe that's harsh, not no more Eisley, but, bah, i just want them to succeed so badly, but if no one wants to "sell out" then i guess i'll just have to take it, not my call in the end...

i keep thinking maybe we could get them into an old "Leave it to Beaver" episode...

Ward walks in the front door, "Honey, I'm HOme...". (thumping bass and
music blaring from upstairs) Barbara Billingsly says, "Oh Ward, I'm glad
you're home...you'd better get upstairs right now...I think Beaver is
getting keen on rock music or something terrible...he's invited this bunch
of beatniks over and they're up there right now, making all kinds of
racket"... (raised eyebrow on Ward as he shakes the fold out of the
paper and decides not to light his pipe just yet.)

Upstairs - Wally: "Gee yuy Beav'...Dad's gonna pound yuy when he finds
out you've been listening to rock music and invited the young hoodlums
to our house..." (Eisley is playing live with small vox amps..."Chase me
down with your knife...I don't wanna die...") Beav: "Wuh-Wuh Walley?
Why do you suppose d-d-dad would get so soar?" knock-knock - door opens:

You finish the story; or not. I'm too tired.

Ha, tiny Vox amps. Or Bassmans, like in Weezer's "Buddy Holly" video.

lol That would be even better than 7th Heaven.

I would try to tie this in with Eddy, but I've got zilch...

i have to agree with nick on this one. have Eisley remake a smashing pumpkins video. Today perhaps? OOOOOOO 1979! let Weston and Jon smash up a convenience store while Boyd is the guy at the register and the girls speed away in the car...GENIUS!

I want to direct an Eisley video. More than one, in fact.

One would be like the French Connection car chase. Yea, verily.
