I said it before, I'll say it again, "In the Aeroplane Over the Sea."
Not the song, the whole dang album.
Or, any selection from that brilliant piece of wax really.
I'm not greedy.

Nowhere Man by the Beatles.

for some reason I can hear it in my head. and can imagine it all Eisley-ish and lovely.

or anything from Abbey Road. that'd make me smile.

I'd think the band could add a fresh feel to the following songs:

"Harmony" Starflyer 59

"Sad Face" The Choir

"Meaningless" Sixpence None the Richer

"Rain All Day" Fleming and John

"River on Fire" Adam Again

I like the set list the way it is, maybe they could up the tempo on some of the slower songs, that way they could get through those in 45. Why can't they have an hour long set, cut Snow Patrol's set down? The only song I really care to hear from them is, "Run."

Eisley could cover a Damien Rice song, I can hear it just now, beautiful. Or how about an older Muse song, "Unintended?" I would be up to hearing a cover of Elliot Smith, "Pictures of Me," or "Son of Sam" or "Everything Means Nothing to Me." I could hear them covering Modest Mouse, "World at Large" or "The Ocean Breathes Salty." My list goes on, but they can't cover everything I reckon.

If we're talking Beatles songs then I say:

Across the Universe
Here Comes the Sun
In My Life

Although pretty much every Beatles song that exists has been covered 100 times over it seems....

if Eisley covered a Beatles song, it'd have to be...You Know my Name, Look up the number!

but i think Nowhere Man is the best idea yet. it does sound Eisleyish.

or! 99 red luft balloons by Nena. and they can all dance around on stage. doo da doo doo doo! doo da doo doo doo!

The Christian industrial band Mortal covered "Nowhere Man" back in 1994. And they did it verbatim - with 60s production values and all. Pretty good cover but it didn't exactly fit in with the rest of their work.

I like cover songs and all, but usually I think of them as show fillers for bands that don't have lots of great songs. I may be wrong, but I would rather Eisley play their own songs. I vote NO, covers. Eisley can play cover songs when they have a long set on their own headlining tour. 45 minutes is so short and should be used for Eisley to play as many as their songs as possible.

So I think they should cover "Everything you've done wrong" by a sweet little canadian band that goes by the name of SLOAN. Okay. maybe not. But its a great song and you should listen to it anyway.

Mr. Kite is a good one.

But how about "While my Guitar Gently Weeps" or "Dear Prudence"?

God I love the White Album!

Or how about "Mean Mr. Mustard" or "Maxwell's Silver Hammer"

There's so many good ones to choose from!

I'd also love to hear them cover "L.A. Woman" by The Doors
