I was just wondering....
does anybody know why the Laughing City version of telescope eyes is missing some of the verses from the original recording? i really like them alot and think they add alot to the song, albeit both versions are great. and by great i mean awesome.

It's not missing; they were cut out of the song with skilled precision because it was too long, or something. I prefer the longer version because the story flows much better. Short version is like skipping pages in a book.

yay,I love the original version as well

You humor me today
Calling me out to play
With your telescope eyes, metal teeth
I can’t be seen with you (you freak)

Go cry, go run away
Let your short legs carry you away
With your big dress and your dirty hair
Your pen’s waiting for you
Just get far, far away from me
I don’t want your disease

Please don’t make me cry,
Please don't make me cry,
I’m just like you, I know you know
I’m just like you so leave me alone

Dear Matthew, why can’t you see?
You’re just not near enough like me
With your telescope eyes, metal teeth
I can’t be seen with you (you freak)

yea, i like the longer version better. i don't like when songs a shortened... it's like the cliffs notes or the sparknotes of a song. you get the gist, but you don't get the whole thing.

I like the new one better. But I like all of the old lyrics too. It's great song either way. But I like Noah too.

The version that appears on Laughing City EP was shortened and rearranged at the request of the producer of that version, Mr. Goodmanson. It was done in order to make the song shorter and more "radio friendly". In the Dallas market the song did receive considerable airplay....if the band re-records it, they've said they will reinstate the missing lyrics, and perhaps even the "jazzy bridge" that appears in the middle of the original version.
