Well, I must say that for my first Eisley show, and first Trees show at that, I am extremely impressed and amazed. It was literally like listening to the EP, except only louder and with some new songs thrown in! I only wish that I had discovered Eisley sooner. A longer set would've been nice, but I can't really complain. I thought Cordelane was good too. I'll admit though, I didn't stay for Old 97's, which I'm not sure if I'll regret or not. Nevertheless, I'm quite content with what I experienced. Thanks for making the show awesome guys, and happy birthday Josh!

Trees club is like 2 minutes from my house. the old 97's are great too...i just know i missed a great show...

I'd post, but I already did on that other thread.

Basically, Eisley was amazing, and I didn't stay for Old 97's either.

The first two bands didn't do much for me.

Was anyone dedicated enough to write down some sort of set list, or is there anyone who could remember everything they played?

Last night Eisley sounded very good as usual, the new song is developing into a great one! Weston played some new drum parts in a few of the songs, which are very cool!
I thought Cordelane was really good....the music is a little more mellow than i usually prefer, but, it was really refreshing!
I think i will go see them again at their show in a couple of weeks.
Thanks for the sticker, Taylor Smile

Old 97's were...well...hmmm.....too loud? There's no reason to play music that loud....maybe i'm just getting old.

very good show indeed. the lighting was very nice. boyd, you have anything to do with that? anyway jessi, the violin player (i hope that his name, forgive me if its not), definitely added to the sound. once again i would have to say that marvelous things sounds better every time i hear it. such good melody. all of you take care on your trip to europe. boyd keep sending us those great stories and photo illustrations. we'll be here when you get back.

I could try and remember what all was played, but I'm sure I'll miss something, or put in something that wasn't played. Hmmm....let's see, in no order whatsoever:

Over the mountains (ok, that was first)
Mr. Pine
I wasn't prepared
Tele Eyes
Sea King
"new song" - sounded great!
Marvelous things
They all surround me
Silver Bugs (is that the correct title? I love that song!)
Sun Feet
Tree Tops (this song was last)

Great set! Since I couldn't move, because it was so packed (Josh said it was the first Adventure Club birthday bash to sellout ahead of time), I didn't take many pictures this time *sad*. It did give me time, though, to really watch the band. They are all so good, and so modest - it's really a refreshing site every time I see them. I found myself watching Weston a lot this time. Such an amazing drummer, he really adds a great punch to things. I loved watching him work.

While I've known about the Old 97s for years (even have one of their cds), I'd never seen them before. Wow! what a show. Yes, it was loud alt. country - that's why I bring along earplugs, don't leave home without 'em - but it was a high energy set from them. A lot of the crowd sang right along with the band as they played for a little short of 2 hours! They looked like they were having fun up there, even though the heat must have been draining. Rhett (the lead singer) drenched his white button down shirt in sweat by the third or fourth song, but never let the heat stop him.

All in all a great night of music from all the bands. Way to go Josh! Happy Birthday! Can't wait for next year's gig. The big number 10.

P.

You forgot Memories, that was my favorite new song and almost made up for the fact they didn't play Head Against the Sky!! Smile

I love the old stuff the most.

And Taylor/Cordelane person, I feel awful now. I think you really got screwed by the sound, I couldn't hear the vocals at all and I was right in front.

Golly, Poster

I drove in from Houston to catch the show at Trees since I haven't seen them since January, opening up for Coldplay in Houston and Dallas. Great show, except for the sound, as others have said. I couldn't hear the violin. I was in the far corner on the balcony, and couldn't see half the stage because of the curtain. My dumb fault. But we met Jesse's mom!! She was taking pictures from up there.
Great show guys! Loved it! Can't wait for a concert in Houston, hmmmmmm? I'd love that!
