do you folks know how hard it is to find a copy of your ep? i had to order it on-line after looking for it today (and yes i even went to the mom and pop indie stores). i'm sure that will all change now that you're on warner (yuck! if you have to sign to a major why not elektra? it's the only decent major out there) but until then step up the distro for those looking for 'laughing city'. ada isn't the only distro out there. mordam. red. parasol. etc...

Personally, I think Warner Bros. isn't that bad. I'd kill for my own deal with Warner Bros. Elektra...and even Capitol is pretty cool. But my personal favorite has to be Columbia.

All EP's are hard to find. Not really just Eisley's. It may be hard to find but once you get and listen to the Eisley EP, it's worth searching for. Smile

Guess it depends where you're at in the US. Here in LA, we walked into Virgin Super store and found it immediately, also in the coolest indie record store - Amoeba, which is huge...it's everywhere out here I think...Tower, etc. In our little town, it's in two or three stores in healthy quantity because of reorders. In Dallas, it's at Tower, Good Records, Virgin...those I know of and more...We found it in NY, Chicago...all over, when we were out. But I know it's tougher in smaller markets. Sorry.

Putting out an indie record was just what the band wanted. After being a small, unsigned band for 5 -6 years, it felt right...

WB is absolutely Eisley's pick of all the labels that were on board at the time management closed the bidding. (Epic, Capitol, Columbia, IDJ....tons of imprints and Dreamworks and others were wanting in... Arista... Universal... so many were catching wind and wanting showcases; I can't even remember...

But, we're still stoked over WB and vice versa. Tom Whalley and Craig Aaronson (WB president) are still signing bands that the other labels are losing because they have problems that are very visible. Integrity....for one thing. WB is the only label that made a profit last year. Most of the other giants lost millions and millions. Talk to bands like Flaming Lips - who have tenure and longevity with WB. I did. I believe we're in a great family. Maybe it seems naive...and sure...anything can change; that's why you have to go with your gut...and build lasting relationships that transcend everything else.

Labels are sort of like banks. You want to find a bank that has a great reputation...great history, (great bands on their roster); you talk to others who "bank" at the bank, right? Find a bank that's been around for decades and decades...one you can count on; they'll always be there. That's WB. They're diversified...they have the film industry to subsidize record sales...they're highly successful at everything they do.

But also, I think it's partly who you know at the bank. If the president and the loan officer and the clerk and the janitor love you...the bank seems good. Eisley seems to enjoy a healthy amount of favor from every department at WB - marketing, new media, publicity, A&R, radio, the president, their producer, their publisher....on and on.... is that a coincident? To me, it means that there are cool people at WB...in every office, at every level...

In short, for I believe Warner is a a great label....one that I believe will end up on top and stay there for a long, long time. What other attitude is there to have? gotta go.

A thousand thoughts i think of you
Whatever you did has got me glued
its icky, its sticky ooh
You're the one im dreaming of
Why does this feel like wasted time
What a price this traveling love?
You and me trapped between these lines
Ooh you're so mine
If we both want the love and i wait long enough
Then the ground that we're on might be common-No Doubt

There are some at the Eisley web site (eisley.com). Click on "songs" after you get through the introduction.

Looks like some are missing now... unless it's my crazy computer acting up. There used to be more.

Also, all the lyrics to the songs on the Laughing City EP are here:
http://www.eisley.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1327

And lyrics to various other songs might be found in this message board.
